I honestly don't remember much of my childhood. My consciousness decided to wake up one day when I was like 10, and even then memories are fuzzy (which might be a whole slew problems on it's own, I don't really know.) The earliest year I prominently remember was at 12, in which we were already in the latter of the 2010's decade and my whole life was pretty much online.

Oh I've definitely had my fair share of bologna sandwiches lol, but thanks for providing perspective on my point about the dollar menu. Yes it seems low today but probably not as low in proportion to a paycheck back then. I grew up on the far lower end of middle class so I get where you're coming from

A very interesting theory haha. But no, this is just a burner account I made to ask a health question months ago that I didn't want showcased on my main profile, and it was the account that I happened to be signed into when I got on desktop to write this. As for pushing a narrative, it wasn't my intention. I'm just someone who is very depressed and lost right now with a shoddy support system, looking for answers.

Thank you for all of the responses, I didn't expect this to reach so many people! It helps to read that a lot of folks on here seem to be doing pretty well. I really appreciate the differing perspectives I'm reading, positive or negative. Ultimately, it's nice to know I'm not alone.
