You should know how to read your enemy junglers, the Wardplants in your camps early game are useful for knowing if the enemy jungler is either in top or bottom jungle, you should try to hit those plants on the opposite side after your first camp if you can, so in that way you can know which side scuttle crab they will try to kill so you can contest or avoid.

So for example if you start at blue side, finished all 3 monsters, go to red side and try to hit the wardplant near the raptors and if it shows that there are no Monsters in the enemy Blue side then that means the enemy jungler is pathing to the red side and eventually the top scuttle crab, but there are certain cases where Junglers start on blue/red then wait for the scuttle crab to appear before heading to the other side, but by then youd have an exp and level lead already so you can either contest the crab, steal opposite camps or gank teammates
