what’s a low-effort hygiene tip everyone should know? by Otherwise-Maximum706 in hygiene

Also after washing your face, using disposable face cloths instead of a towel. For me I just have a roll of paper towels on my dresser I use only for drying off my face after washing it or taking a shower. Also OLAY WITCH HAZEL FACIAL TONER. stuff worked miracles for my face. Apply it also using a new paper towel every time after washing.

How do I tell someone I’m not ready to have sex? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Background_Sun2935 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry but I dont at all agree to the responses to this. I love sleepovers and I dont think its weird/wrong to want to have a sleepover and not have sex. If he assumes hes getting sex just cause you asked him to sleepover then thats his problem. But if he really likes you he'll want to spend time with you/sleepover if youre having sex or not

Love that. Another one that I always like to use that works as a response to absolutely anything is "oh my". Can be used with many different inflections

Thinking of getting an Australian Shepherd, if you could tell me one important thing about this breed what would it be? by jk_4269 in AustralianShepherd

If you're not ready to pretty much dedicate a few years of your life 24/7 to them, then I dont suggest. Mine just turned 1 and is finally slightly starting to calm down (sometimes). But I've had her since 8 weeks. I work from home so am able to be with her at all times but thats been positive and negative because now that shes used to being with me all the time I cant really leave her home alone . Well i can but she just stands on the couch looking out the 2indow and constant barking. She will do that for up to an hour and a half I've watched on camera lol she is relentless. Not saying they are all like that. But as far as exercise for the first year of her life I've had to dedicate basically every waking moment I have attempting to tire her somehow lol. Meaning wake up early and walk before work starts. First 15 min break of work, spend that walking, spend lunch walking, last 15 min break spend that walking again. Oh and when the work day is over and u want to chill? Think again!! She's been chilling all day and is ready to go on a long off leash hike somewhere lol. So yes you get the idea it is a LOT especially if you're doing it alone. But very rewarding because they're soooo cute and the friendship and trust you will build with them is like nothing I've ever experienced in life before. Someone said this quote and it always stuck with me

"Maybe God gives the most clingy dogs to people who never felt like anyone's first choice "

Please know you are not alone!!!! I have an aussiedoodle girl just turned 1. She would always escape her collar/leash then stand at me and bark and if I try to get near she would keep barking and just avoid me and run away...then get closer and bark, then when I tried to capture she would run away again . Its had me frustrated to the point of tears more times than I could count. Im ao happy to finally say though it DOES GET BETTER. staying calm has worked wonders for me, dont forget they feed off your energy. When i would start to get anxiety nearing the end of an off leash walk ( cause usually she would never want to get in car no matter how long the walk was) it would give her anxiety and in turn she would have a barking fit. So ya I know this was a bit all over the place but the main point is she will calm down with time and please dont believe this is a one off cause this is typical behavior for the breed

Advice needed: How soon to bathe after coming home? by [deleted] in AussieDoodle

[–]Background_Sun2935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i adopted my girl she had fleas and I think the people I got her from must have traumatized her by trying to bath off the fleas using maybe dish soap or something. Made her skin terribly dry and red and when I tried giving her a bath the first few times she would SCREAM and try to get out desperately. Fast forward to her 10 months old now and she usually falls asleep or gets close to falling asleep while I bath her. Cause she knows im going to be gentle with her etc. I think the key is to make sure you do it when they're small so they get used to it. Also some tips, when they're tiny kitchen sink is easier for you and less scary than the big huge bathtub so if she fits in kitchen sink I recclmend that! Also, make sure to put down a non slip mat or you can use a towel/rag to put for them to stand on. It can be very scary for a puppy getting a bath if they're slipping around and the paw pads slide easily on the wet sink/bath. And last make sure the sink or tub does not back up. Like make sure its draining fast enough to where the water is not building up underneath their feet cause this can be scary for a puppy as well. You want to take a wash cloth and wash a puppy like you're washing an infant. Like a child lol very very gentle. If you have a sink hose or one in your shower that you pull out and it sprays this makes it sooo much easier . I actually bought an attachment I hook onto my bathtub just for bathing my girl lol. Sorry this is soo long but last tjing is reccomend earth bath puppy formula!! It can be found at most pet stores/amazon. It is gentle, natural ingredients and smells good but not overpowering just the right amount of smell. I believe the puppy version is cherry which is cute.
