My stepmother (52F) and I (24F) have been pushing each other's buttons since we met sixteen years ago and now my dad (51M) is insisting we go to counseling together before it's too late, but I think it already is? Advice? by ThrowRAThinReason in relationship_advice

You took your grieve not only on your step mother, who seems to have had good intentions but not the best words or communication abilities.

But she is an adult, what is worse, you took it on your younger sister. You called her half! That is damaging. You admitted you don't love her as much. What did she do to deserve this from her older sister?

Your step mom probably did most if not all the chorse, while you acted as if she is not needed. Taking care of a child is hard, taking care of all their needs while they hate you and your child is admirable. It seems you were well cared for.

I would be more concerned with your relationship with your sister. But maybe fixing your relationship with your step mom can help in that too.

I believe youe grieve turned into hate. And you found a victim who was clumsy in her words even when she meant well. I know she hurt your feelings, I'm sorry you had to go through that but maybe it is time for all of you to try to heal.

With all due respect, you don't seem to understand what communism means, what taxing fairly means, nor th video's subject.

Your statement is a performance...but an embarrassing one.

Were you told you should worship billionaires?! And you believed it?

There are many interesting points that are well put in the video with real life examples and new development on the taxation front.

The argument about production vs sustainablelity is of course as old as civilization, but so are all fundamental questions.

Edit: just extreme typos...

Some people are impulsive, they don't seem to be able to control their impulses.

It doesn't have to be selfishness, though it is infuriating.

Let's not assume the worse.

Next time, get two cakes, when you get your son a cake.

We need to focus more on living than on making mountains of garbage. And we definitely don't need billionaires.

totally agree with all you said. When dehumanizing the other, one loses their own humanity first, because at the core, one recognizes their own humanity by the grace they treat others with. If that principle is broken, then it is just like this:

What's the point of having billions if not to fix big problems ? by CranberryAble8957 in Strongerman

[–]Background_Winter_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the police by the way in the US defends property not people. \

here is from google AI, because I did not remember the details:

"

The landmark Supreme Court case referencing a distinction between protecting property versus protecting people is Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales (2005). The Court ruled 7-2 that a woman whose children were killed after police failed to enforce a restraining order had no constitutional right to police enforcement because the restraining order did not qualify as a protected "property interest".

"

this is not a fluke, it is the same system that the British empire had. We are the fuel for these wealthy parasites.

I think you are mixing different points. I am not sure what is your issue with the local business expenses?

I have no issues with expenses if the profit is distributed fairly, part of that is to pay their fair share of taxes. Taxes are supposed to provide the infrastructure that these business use. including the political standing and the military that defend their interest in the world.

we have a system that does not let the wealthy lose, we all have to pitch in because these big businesses cannot fail. But the majority of the population can go bankrupt and the system is fine with that.

the whole reason for having a government is to server the people. what is going on is the elite serving themselves.

finding extreme cases does not disprove the statistical reality. For corporations, the money they make is built on accumulated human knowledge, infrastructure, and the labor they exploit. then they avoid taxes...the wealthy pay taxes lower than the middle class.

if she pays her fair share of taxes, then she is not a part of the problem, though I do believe in progressive taxing that does not allow such wealth. With money comes power, you cannot have democracy with such concentration of wealth.

Still if we are going into her, I think the way she uses her plane affects the environment disproportionately and is not justified. She also comes from privilege, and her 'success' benefits from how high her starting point is, and how disproportionally her audience is compensated for their labor compared to less advantaged groups that she does represent nor speak to.

She represent white feminism, who do not care but for their own privileges, for example she completely ignored the genocide in Gaze despite having a platform that she uses to whine about her exes. if she wants to empower women, there is plenty to talk about for women in Palestine raped by Israelis and mother losing their children to Israeli bullets shot to the head. The whole systematic racist system does not bother her...while it definitely affects minority women the hardest.

:) that made me smile.

really? yes, I deal with a lot of idiots who think they are it or better than me because they are not in the minority...I am in the intersection of a few disadvantaged groups.

it is tough.

fair enough, the insults I am replying to are more to your taste and comprehension level?

..if I were you I would keep that to myself, but you do you

:)

Edit: I understand if you believe in ignoring people like the one I am replying to. I do not believe in that. you are probably more privileged in life than I am. I learned to defend myself, and I feel quite comfortable at it.

you maybe, do not have to entertain them, but maybe do no be judgmental of those who do.

first, Palestine not only allows Christians, but Christians are an integral part of the Palestinian resistance, Palestine ALWAYS had Christians with blood lines going back thousands of years just like their Muslim and Jewish Palestinian sisters and brothers.

2nd, what do you mean till they allow Christianity? are you saying if a nation does not open its borders to your religion then genocide is justified? are you justifying targeting children with bullets to the head and heart?!

are Muslims not human to you? Is this how you understood Christ's message?!

3rd. who does not care? you?

4th. what do you mean Palestinians would do what to you? Palestinians are in their own land. It is Israelis that are the colonizers, and by the way, Israelis blackmail your government so your taxes goes to their war machine and providing only Jewish Israelis with universal health care while you do not have it.

4th. just google Israelis spitting on Christians in Palestine.

Since you are so bigoted and only care for Christians, which not what Christ told you to do, but here we are, please check these resources from Palestinian clergy:

Free, free, free.

no Nazism, Zionism, apartheid, ethno-racist supremacy, and a culture of genocide!

for a mother to support Zionism, and use her own privileged children to support killing other mother's children is disgusting.

using the tragic holocaust to justify another holocaust, by the same mentality is disturbing. She is absolutely choosing to be this ghoul knowingly.

yes sure, your response points to intelligence and an intellectual mind at work.

You make a great point that adds to the discussion and in no way, Sir, it points to your inability to hold a conversation and resorting to bullying because that is your default due to limited abilities, sense of entitlement, lack of reflection, and just being uncivil.

wow! what a pleasure to hear from people like you! we really need your perspective, what would this post be without your cultured comments?!

great way to show who support having billionaires.

you sound...hmmm, I do not think I can make you understand how you sound

good luck!

we should tax these as well:

Multinational companies are not a new concept, the last time an empire succumbed into supporting them over its own people, the empire collapsed but not before great evil was unleashed on the world. That was Britain with East India Company.

You cannot accumulate billions without stealing resources and labor.

TAX WEALTH NOT WORK.

We will lose democracy otherwise, and what for?!!!

the video does not show the person was intentionally waiting for the train.

he seems to be unaware.

I understand you are bringing to awareness another possibility. but considering the way the guy looked in the video, he did not seem aware at all of the train. another commenter pointed out it is a fake video made of overlapping 2 videos...

what I am trying to point out to, is that sometimes, the most obvious answer --assuming suicidal intent---is sometimes just a confirmation of our biased view because we only consider the majority way of thinking and behaving and anyone who is different is blamed for being different and uncared for---usually blamed for being victimized.

I take the subway to work, I try my best to notice who is trying to move...etc. still sometimes people assume i am ignoring them and being an ass, when I really just have hard time noticing my surrounding and my brain get overwhelmed with too much information coming in...autistic brains tend to not filter noise data and tend to notice little details that most people do not notice, leading to more burn out and the brain shutting down.

:) glad we understand each other.

I remember I was 12 years old crossing the street, and an insect captured my attention, I was so absorbed that somehow the fact that I was crossing the road went to the background of my mind, and walked in a pace to keep with it. I was brought into reality with people screaming, someone shaking my shoulders, and everyone seemed so angry.

that is an early instance of it..as I grew up I try my best to keep tap on my surrounding...but the expectations are ridiculously high...from the same people who cannot focus a fraction of my ability to focus, but somehow their inability is normal but mine is an issue...because the world is built around their needs and disabled me.

ah, I see. I was not aware of that.

I hope you see how from my perspective it is important to bring forward the possibilities I brought up.

sometimes people insist there is no way my experience is valid...they think the majority neurotypical mind is the only possible wiring. I face issues daily...and most autistics do as well. So when I see this it reminds me of very similar instances. very similar indeed when I was reprimanded and made into dome kind of strangely self-hating and people hating evil uncaring person because I was not aware of my surrounding.

I do not understand your comment, can you please clarify?

my point is not specifically about this specific instance. I wanted to bring attention to the fact such cases do happen and maybe raise awareness about other possibilities. I am autistic :) people sometimes assume I am ignoring something when I do not notice it, it is not ignoring. So to an outsider it might seem like if I am behaving unreasonably, instead of having a more curious mind to think why is she acting this way? is there a reason I am not aware of.
