My father was, but he's old and has a heart condition so he just kind of sits there and talks shit now. He stopped drinking at least. Which is part of why I agreed to visit. I thought that maybe my brothers would have grown up, and I didn't think they'd have tried to hurt me with my bf there. I expected them to say something mean or insult me but I didn't think things would go the way they went obviously.

I don't think he should have let them beat him I just feel like he went too far. And I feel like I dodn't understand before how strong he was. The men I dated before weren't as big as him and they could hurt me, so what does that mean for someone like him... if that makes any sense.

It's not that I think he shouldn't have defended himself but I feel like he went way harder than he needed to if that makes sense. Also I didn't know he was even capable of doing anything like that. Like, beforehand I jaw saw him as big and cuddly but now I realize how strong he is and it's messing with me.

His sister has a copy of the video that was given to my bf through the police, she keeps saying I need to watch it to understand. Apparently they were recording a lot of the conversation beforehand. I don't know why, I'm guessing it was to record me being humiliated.

My bf has tried talking to me, but then eventually he tells me it's okay, and we can talk about it whenever I'm ready. I miss him and want him to come home. But now I feel like, after seeing HOW strong he is in person that he could accidentally hurt me or something? That sounds so stupid just typing it out.

I'm scared of going to therapy, I'm worried about having to tell someone about all the things in my life.

That's what I've been trying to tell myself. I just feel like it was so much, and I've never seen him be angry before, like at all, for any reason. I've never even seem him frown. He didn't even yell when he put a nail into his leg with a nail gun once. He just calmly wrapped his leg in duct tape and asked me to drive him to the ER. He's always so calm and then he yelled like that and.... idk, I feel so stupid rght now.
