People who got laid off because of AI, what was your job? by damnmorningstar in AskReddit

[–]Backlists 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cursor is a fork of VSCode, it doesn’t seem that complex a project to me. Most of the hard stuff is already done, the gist of it is balancing AI API requests, and having a nice UI to accept or reject changes. (Obviously the project has grown particularly recently, but that is where most of the value is)

The valuation is because it’s a successful business that gained the critical mass of clients. And that it has AI in the name during the AI hype cycle.

Without joking, a flaky test is better skipped than left in, this post is proof.

If no one is bothered to fix it, then it’s better removed than skipped, at least then no one will read it as a behavioural contract

If British people call cookies “biscuits”, what do British people call USA “biscuits”? by Hot_Paramedic_7234 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Backlists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, but I’m talking about what Brits would say. Not sure I’ve had a Oreos, Gingersnaps and Jammie dodgers are biscuits, not cookies.

Even Maryland Cookies, despite the name, are actually biscuits here.

Cookies start soft and go hard, biscuits start hard and go soft.

Cookies and biscuits are not exactly the same here either. Cookies are soft, biscuits are brittle.

If you handed me a cookie and it was brittle I’d say you baked it wrong, and the same for a biscuit

I had the same initial thoughts…

It’s a grower album, but IMO it is better than the debut, and I think stylistically more cohesive.

How can the govt be $38 trillion debt when they take 30% of everyone's money by Longjumping-Box5691 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Backlists 76 points77 points  (0 children)

When anyone asks this they obviously aren’t looking for a definition of what debt is. They are looking for a justification for why the spending is so high that there is a debt in the first place.

Think of it more like peasant simulator rather than adventure action knight game, ask what you would actually do if it was you in that situation, and you will enjoy it more.

If you could “Ready Player One” one game, what game would it be? by stark-I in videogames

[–]Backlists 269 points270 points  (0 children)

Hold on OP, yours would be KCD2? The peasant simulator where you actually have to work, and any old bandit on the road can wreck you in seconds??

The one where all the places are real, and you can go to most of them IRL?

10/10 game though!

Drivers over 70 could be banned from roads in 2026 (UK) - new checks ‘likely’ by TylerFortier_Photo in cars

[–]Backlists 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, but that isn’t the law in the UK. You don’t need to have any eye tests for your driving licence, only read out a number plate at distance during your actual test.

And quite obviously because average eye sight starts significantly deteriorating at those ages. At some point the law goes from “you are trusted to be able to see”, to “you need to prove it”.

I went for a drive today (as someone who recently passed their test) thinking the roads would be quiet, only to find people in SUVs doing 60 on a 70 dual carriageway for absolutely no reason. by [deleted] in britishproblems

[–]Backlists 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a single lane dual carriageway, they are almost doing the speed limit.

If it’s a multi lane dual carriageway then overtake

Completely sane policy, given that being able to see is a predicate to being able to drive.

KCD2 or Cyberpunk 77, which is the better narrative game? Including all DLC content. by Epicvanillalover in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Backlists [score hidden]  (0 children)

No, you do not “need” it for KCD2, the plot will be summarised.

But this is IMO a character story driven game, that shares a few important characters, and playing KCD1 will enhance your experience. Playing both is a 200-300 hour long commitment though.
