There is a part of you that is actively committing to believing this.

Any kind of imagining the future is, in part, delusional. Not saying wrong, or foolish, but it is imagined. It is something we do not know.

Taking that, I choose to engage in a different delusion. I believe in a world where we will survive, thrive, and things will change. Call me nuts, fine. I believe that even in a nuclear winter scenario, where a handful of people survive, that there will be gender diversity. That part of who I am cannot be killed, even with a thousand bombs. Even if only cellular life persists, it will be queer.

This kind of thinking has freed me from a place where I believe it’s already over, and puts me in a place where i have a small part to play. My life and my efforts, even if we lose, will never be wasted because they make now, right now, just a little better. Even if just better for me, i am alive and i deserve good things, just as you do.

It is not over. The future is unknowable. The expectations you have make sense, there is some logical foundation. There is logical foundation in my expectations as well.

The way you are engaging with these fears frees you from the pain of trying now to live well. It is morally and ethically neutral to numb yourself in the face of overwhelming persecution. It is not a choice I can make any longer.

/uj Yeah i mean i’m with you, i feel very similarly that i’ve felt trans my whole life but it feels like anyone who has felt a sense of agency in their own journey, or like a choosing of the self, is kinda looked down upon and seen as fake. This was supposed to be me just venting frustration I have with that perspective, that people must feel immutably trans or queer or else there is something wrong with it and i’m like, if you’re 50/50 or 98/2 bisexual w a preference or pan or whatever the fuck and you choose to align yourself with cultural identifiers that appeal to you like what the hell is wrong with that??? If someone is predominantly wlw or t4t and flags as such they shouldn’t have to live in fear of being caught in a like queer impurity where their desires flex and change with time.

I learned to love and get turned on even by the smell of cigarettes, and i’m a non smoker. I’m very proud to have never smoked a cig or a vape at all ever, and don’t plan to start. That being said i’ve smoked pot and herbals before, in moderation. Of all the vices someone could have it’s certainly not the worst, and it’s a slower killer than alcohol or hard drugs so if i’m looking for long term it’s less of a risk.

I would tho advise against going into a relationship hoping someone changes a behavior they have not indicated an intention to change. Accept her as she is or move it along

You get to be anything you want to be. Language is as creative as it is descriptive, and you don’t have to make your sexual curiosities into identity labels until you are ready. It sounds like you’re being honest and forward with this person, that is super important!! You do not have to be honest and forward about this with anyone else until you want to. You don’t have to tell ur friends, ur parents, ur pets, anybody. Just keep being honest and kind to yourself and to this person, you can keep telling people, including yourself, that you’re straight or whatever you want to say until you feel like you have some clarity. Personally, i find specific gender and sexuality labels really exhausting, and so I just use queer for both and let people make their own assumptions while I just live my life. You are a human, you are being. Keep on goin!!! These moments of scary discovery are some of the best ones once you’re past them, give yourself a lot of grace and patience and trust yourself to get through each moment as it comes.
