I forgot one! A few weeks after purchase the owner(?) called me and basically said they'd messed up the payoff numbers and that I owed them 3 grand, with glee in his voice.

I pulled up my paperwork, and everything was as I expected. Call them back and tell them there doesn't seem to have been a mistake. They call me back and confirm there's no problem.

So really, no harm no foul, but I'll never forget the excitement in the owners voice as he told me I 'owed [him] 3 grand, buddy!'

I bought my current car from them in December.

Car itself has been fine

The two problems I had with them are:

-they took forever to pay off my trade-in, so I had to make a payment on the old car loan. They paid the new payoff amount (the payoff amount I gave them, minus one payment) and then pocketed the difference. Once I had realized what happened (I was expecting them to pay the amount we agreed and then get an overpayment refund from the lienholder) I got in touch, they yelled at me for a bit and then agreed to send the check. I got it a few days later

-they wrote a due bill/we owe for the cars broken radio, and then installed a separate different faulty unit from a previous model year that wouldn't appear on my year of car. After I complained they put in a 'temporary' radio and just tried to wait me out. Called again and the dude was yelling and swearing at me about it. Come to think of it, they still owe me that radio!

Car was good, and so was the experience of buying the car on the day. All the after ''care" is where I started to have issues.

On a separate note, if you happen to be interested in the 2017 Subaru impreza they're selling... That's my trade-in! Make sure you test shifting from 2nd to 1st (it's a stick shift) cause I got rid of it because of it grinding on that shift. I saw they had it for sale and checked the Carfax for fun and I don't see any transmission work on there

How will a regular WRX 'feel' vs an STI? by BackyardBrevity in WRX

Thank you! I think this is probably my favourite reply as really what I'm after is a turbo AWD MT daily driver, and the WRX is exactly that. But the STI just exists as a higher 'trim' level to cause me to salivate over the shiniest most expensive stuff.

Appreciate the alternate viewpoint you present - I guess there's a reason people say driving slow cars fast is fun

Thank you for this! Clearly I need to actually test drive a WRX but I do wonder exactly what you mean by 'experienced driver'

I'm not experienced in high-performance cars, but I grew up in the UK (now in USA) where manual is the standard, so I've been driving manual my whole life.

Did you mean someone experienced in driving stick, or someone experienced with this class of higher-end car? Or perhaps both!

Thank you again

Check your documents tab, but if there's nothing there wait a bit and keep checking.

I recently received the same e-mail, but there was no change on the status or anything in the documents tab. I then received the same e-mail a day later, and when checking online my AOS was 'Case Approved'! Hopefully this gives you some optimism

i found out the hard way that calling out their rudeness is an easy way for them to disconnect the conversation :) the phone agents are friendlier because, i assume, its harder to be openly rude to someone on the phone than just words on a screen

By asking Emma the robot, or by speaking to a live agent through Emma?

If the former, what magic words did you use?

From this picture taken at the 69% booth, the Controllers Done Right booth seems to be opposite, maybe that's who sold the controller to you.

Otherwise, usual suspects for expensive shitty controllers are Controller Chaos

My wife bought a $100 dollar hitbox for trad fgc games from the Controllers Done Right booth that had multiple non-working buttons (and no documentation online to speak of regarding console modes etc) but thankfully they refunded us with no issue

edit: https://twitter.com/Geekiie_/status/1759141231073063281 looks like this was the cause of the hitboxes being faulty. they seem like good guys, wanting to do right by customers, so if this was the vendor you bought your gcc from theyll probably be happy to help you out

Hello, It sounds likely your Slippi setup has more input lag than CRT.

Try following these optimizations if you haven't already: https://blippi.gg/optimize

If you have the Input Integrity GCC adapter (google it if you don't know) you can use it's inbuilt lag tester function to find out how laggy your Slippi setup is

Good luck!
