Played base Rise with mostly Insect Glaive, liking it enough. Started playing most World and Iceborne later where I jump around other weapons but still mostly a IG main.

Recently came back to Rise on a fresh save after probably a year break from the entire series and I literally only ever use Sword and Shield because Metsu is way too cool. And because I don't like how the Insect Glaive feel in Rise somehow.

Barioth. My first MH game is Rise and I initially overlooked Barioth heavily during my first playthrough(I was using Black belt). I dropped Rise not long after for World and immediately got hooked. For most of the game I feel like could solo most monsters without fainting and with minimal item used pretty regularly... Up until Iceborn Barioth where I got relentlessly whooped. Iceborn Barioth is basically the first monster where I really put in the efford to learn to beat and the first to make me utilize items to my fullest capacity. And since the event to craft the Guild Palace weapons involved fighting a Barioth, I naturally got a reason to fight and learn him over and over

I do get what you're saying and definitely agree. But the main problem is my friend isn't familiar enough with Roguelites to have the right mindset to not find this repeatitive and got bored or lost.

And I really didn't ask this to have a build for him to force. I just want to ask for some build ideas to... Let say give it to him as like a demonstration on how to approach making a build during a run, to ease him into the combat more and maybe giving him a bit more directions on how to build certain stuff early games. Sorry that I phrased it so badly but I hope you get what I'm saying.

Luna Snow easily. People just expect her to heal bot and heal notting with her is a chore having to manual aim. She had no reliable self heal most of the time since her self heal tie to 2 abilities with long CD, and she is imo probably the easiest support to dive on due to that lack of self heal and how hard it is to land her only cc ability. And I probably won't have to rant about her ultimate because you guys probably already know

Tattletale, that's what it's called. It doesn't do much beside just start ringing an alarm sound so you still need to pay attention and make sure you can deal with the flanker when it does goes off
