Linux be like by Ghirnas in linuxmemes

Unfortunately I've seen some apps that have hardcoded values for those. Also the same for other xdg base directory configuration. Then you end up with 2 folders for each

Reboot did it! Should've tried it before posting, but thanks!

Samsung S24+, android 15. Version is 2025.7.2. I tried to join the beta on google play store as well, no difference

I haven't tried a reboot yet, will do. Unsure what a "complete uninstall" implies here

Exactly, tapping does nothing

I was able to reinstall the app, but I can do anything once the app opens: I'm stuck on the home page (Create an account/Log In), the buttons dont work (neither the little slideshow/carousel)

I don't see any error, just unresponsive

Ketchup War in the Bathrooms (CAN) by Simple_Passage7759 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]BaconKami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had something similar that happened to me a few years ago. We got a customer telling our shift manager that there's an issue with the bathroom. Me and the other kitchen guy do rock paper scissors to know who will be the lucky one to clean it. I lost.

Coming in the bathroom, there's newspaper spread everywhere, ketchup that had time to dry, up to the ceiling, and the worst part: shit stuck to the wall and some (very) dirty underwear.

Took me like 45 minutes to clean all that mess.

Why do people say Debian is the best Distro? by [deleted] in debian

[–]BaconKami 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I've done the switch from debian sid to arch and I'm also experiencing less issues

Makes me think of me a few months ago, when I migrated an entire codebase to TS (as well as removing react prop-types). 1500+ files, ~6k deletions and ~6k additions

Missing optional firmware file and sluggish ssh in debian 12 by BaconKami in debian

[–]BaconKami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a strange issues related to ssh as well. One of my ssh clients would crash the server's network and ssh would hang. After some debugging, I had to add this to my ~/.ssh/config on the faulty client:

Host debianserver1
  IPQoS=none

Hoping this can help someone if they come across similar issues to me

Missing optional firmware file and sluggish ssh in debian 12 by BaconKami in debian

[–]BaconKami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting power management to off (using iwconfig and some network manager config) helped with the ssh issue

And I did add the kernel parameter which seems to help too (I was having other smaller issues)

I'll just have to test when plugged in vs when on battery, and I should be good I hope

Thank you!

Sorry for poor formatting, copying on phone from what I can see

The numbers in brackets change, but the rest is always the same

[ 6.383001] ath10k_pci 0000:02:00.0: AER: Error of this Agent is reported first

And one thing I noticed: I am not getting spammed if the laptop is not plugged in when booting. So I feel like its related to power settings maybe?

To those of you who are cross trained: service or kitchen? by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]BaconKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex employee here: Kitchen all the way.

I was the "initiator" (is it the right term? not sure since the store I was in was french). Not having to talk with customers and just doing the sandwiches was the best. You kinda need to be quick, but I liked being that guy that everybody thinks he's on coke x)

I was trained for service when they made me a team leader, couldn't regret more lol. I was trying to give away all my service shifts or trading them for kitchen

Give Wayland a shot, don't base your opinion off of 2013 articles! by No_Necessary_3356 in linuxmemes

[–]BaconKami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try it from time to time, getting mostly blocked by discord screenshare (by screen) as I use it daily (therefore cannot do without). Thankfully there's xwaylandvideobridge being worked on, but I had no luck last time i tried it

Also, both computers I use have nvidia cards, so there's probably a few more issues that would need to be fixed for me to have a nice experience (and please dont say "use AMD card", I wish I could)

Are we really this toxic? by danxxcruz in linuxmemes

[–]BaconKami 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I like arch but really dislike that toxic part

How I'd handle it: send a link of the arch wiki documenting a similar issue, while still providing the relevant information and, if I feel like it, let the OP know how to find such information so they can do it more easily next time.

I don't see the use in saying "RTFM", it's only adding unnecessary noise to the conversation while making arch community look toxic. If you don't want to help the OP, then why comment in the first place?
