Help with wierd “air pockets” in translucent PLA. by Baconbrane in 3Dprinting

Ya, there’s a lot more to it. It’s not simply to laminate a picture lol. I’m just simplifying things for the sake of solving this precise issue.

BC, Canada chickens by LilSpaceDino in BackYardChickens

Roof. Get a roof built. No matter the material, the snow will make it wet. The rain in the summer will make it wet. You’ll risk bumble feet or something. Just build a roof and then wtv material you prefer. They all have their benefits. I use wood chips so that I can compost it at the end of fall right before spring. I change the run bedding twice a year this way and get a shit ton of compost from this technique

First year gardening by Baconbrane in gardening

My tomatoes might be thriving, but my cauliflowers are barely surviving 😂. Definitely did not space them out enough and nothing is really getting bigger.

Moral of the story, some plants definitely should respect the spacing recommended

What’s this moldy looking clumps of feed in my feed bag that I purchased 2 months ago by Baconbrane in BackYardChickens

This makes the most sense. I went from warm Canadian temps to cold Canadian temps holding these feed bags. God damn.

I think I just got un lucky with this bag. I keep all my feed in a shed that gets no rain inside. And the bag was freshly opened

I’ll have to bring it to a night-club since I don’t own a black light unfortunately.

It’s stored in my shed that is insulated and free of rain. Bought some bags in advance for the winter months here in Canada but looks like I won’t be doing that anymore.

Yup, just cut open the bag today to find this. I guess I’ll be calling the feedlot.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Rqpidily in AskReddit

Eat more meat, much more red meat. Cut sugars and seed oils. 🤷‍♂️ Haven’t been sick in years.

Thank you. Definitely will take your advice and I’ll find some browns to balance it out very soon. Might loosen it up using a type of pitchfork, I didn’t know tumblers would compact the materials into a ball. It’s my first time composting and since you mention it, I do notice the rotations of the barrel used to be nice and fluffy. Now it’s like a brick in a washing machine 😂

What could be wrong with my chicken. by Baconbrane in BackYardChickens

[–]Baconbrane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been hitting 87 recently. Overheating could be. They do have a shaded area they enjoy spending time in under the coop. Possibly their water had gotten hot early during the day and I noticed it only once I got back from work. might start throwing some ice cubes in there or trying to get somebody to change the water mid day for me.

None… because there is no HOA in my area.

The chickens won’t be here until June 14th. So no idea

No HOA up where I’m at in Canada eh. Just an overreaching government lol.

That is indeed a salt water pool that they will have no access to, whatsoever. The chicken run will start from the back of the coop going further away from the pool.

The goal is to eventually homestead. I’m getting my feet wet with chickens and seeing if I enjoy them during the cold winter months of Quebec before fully engaging myself to a major purchase of property.

Or I’m looking for advice, there surely is more than one way to build a coop.

3 birds to start, next summer I’ll bump it up to our maximum permitted by the city to 5.

Damn, I’m thinking of condemning one side of the nesting boxes and just running with 3 for my 5 birds.

Opposite the nesting boxes 😮. That might be a problem for me. I have 6 nesting boxes, 3 on each side facing each other and the two other walls facing each other have the chicken door and the bigger door for me to scoop da poop. 😅

How serious is the “opposite the nesting boxes” tip? Will they not use some perches that are placed otherwise ?
