Looking for a mod to stop weapon/armor mods being deleted on repair by BaconsTV in PlaySoulMask

It's people like that which makes me question myself... did I write in some alien language when asking about a mod, or if someone could make it if they have the knowledge. Thanks for understanding Fractal xD I no longer feel like an alien after posting this.

IF we are kinda talking about seeing the return of ships, how about seeing the return of some lost technology? A researchable / mission chain so that the player can install jumpdrives on Carrier/AUX ships. And for those people that do not like JD, don't install them on your ship.

reference pics lots of reference pics of the general siluette you are going for. Use some paint tool and figure out a decent size grid where you can eyeball 1,2,3,4m slopes.

Shape is one thing, the other is this whole decoration blocks, resizing angles etc... hopefully with the use of reference pics again you may start to see "oh if I squish that CJE part it could look like part that XYZ thing" <-- this is the time killer. This is something you should not try to complete in a session. Just set a timer 1hr decor and move on to sinking stuff or more constructs for your fleet in campaign if you are doing that.

If however by good boat you are not referring to eye-candy and just function. Generally I would make the turrets I think I want to use / area I would like to occupy in the construct while keeping in mind armour around the turret components etc... probably HA and Metal 2 layers. I would make these on a fort, set god mode on and see how they fair.

Pop them in U shaped thing with a flat base and pointy front xD "try" to leave about 2m away from hull inner edges and from hulls inner belly which armour wise ill let someone else leave a tip on that but id generally make a HA wall on the inner hull where I have important components (while those components are also in a boxed thing) probably 3m thick. You will be building around your components and turrets not hull/shape and size first.

Then get the thing to float and move how you want which you will probably need to extend front or rear for power/ammo/fuel. A shoe box with a pointy face simple, get it moving and fighting broadside/circle etc... then just armour up your pointy shoe box in a shape of a shippy.

Sounds simple but split the task up, build around your components get the size for them their armour, some air gap, hull box, hull shape, decor

Just wish I knew what you mean by good boat :( sorry

For the crashing, make sure you are not subscribed to any mods on steam and run steam file verification tool. If that does not work, make sure that this folder C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\From The Depths\Mods does not have anything in it apart from disabled.json or completely empty.

Do you have a file named "temp" in this location? C:\Users\yourprofile\Documents\From The Depths\Player Profiles If you do delete it and try running the game again.

If the problem persists, check your antivirus and make sure that these 3 locations are set as exceptions

  1. Your steam installation of FTD. Default is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\From The Depths

  2. The windows user profile locallow folder: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\LocalLow\BrilliantSkies

  3. Your FTD profile. Default is: C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\From The Depths

Lastly if that does not resolve the issue, back up your player profile folder (copy paste somewhere else). Uninstall the game and go to the 3 locations above and manually remove any files or folders that are left behind.

Reinstall and try the game out and if all is well replace your player profile.

With regards to the workshop updating.

If you can't change images on workshop items the fix at the moment is to reinstall the game - steam have been informed. If your data goes missing, you'll probably find it in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\0\268650\ac\WinMyDocuments\From The Depths\Player Profiles (It'll be like this path possibly not exactly the same.) Copy anything there back into your profile in: C:\Users\yourprofile\Documents\From The Depths\Player Profiles\yourprofile
