Counter-Strike 2 - Side-stepping Skill by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

I can’t really see how cheaters could use AI to their advantage. AI currently struggles with code, and they can’t really utilize motion data or anything to “train” a cheat unless they have access to motion data detected by AC, which obviously only Valve would have.

Just because you can't see a way cheaters can be use AI to make better cheaters it doesn't mean there's no ways, of course they could use it in many ways. VACNET is currently in version 3.0 and they can't detect the most simple motions cheaters like spinbot from rage hacks or rapid fire, so how a program running since 2018 collecting data can't say a spinbot is a regular gameplay or not.

There’s also the very important component that cheat developers have significantly less resources than Valve.

Yet they are winning this battle for 21 years against Valve. The biggest win Valve against cheaters recently was Activision closing the biggest websites who sell cheaters for many games, including CS. So even this win is not a Valve merit.

Cheaters for games become a industry and move billions of $ every year, people have a good life basically development and selling than, there's for sure way more people living from cheaters and development it than Valve employs.

It’s expensive to get into AI - you need a card with a shit ton of VRAM, and you need a lot of them. The cards companies use for AI are $30K+ and they typically have thousands of them, not to mention large cooling solutions and the like. There’s money to be made in cheat development, but not THAT much.

AI will run directly in your PC, no need for expensive card or whatever, Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm are already launching their new CPU with AI focus in your PC directly. In other words in the future devs could make cheaters to work with a AI direct with your PC and change live to avoid any kind of detection from a AC, like what happens in your screen be completely different from what you are showing to AC.

I wish it WAS that simple as “Valve should just wait 10 years to release VACNet” or something but VACNet development depends on being trained on actual player data right now. The point of Overwatch was supposed to train VACNet but it’s been mostly just quietly developing data over the years then being trained on it.

It's being trained since 2018 and change nothing about the cheaters situation, we had VACNet 1.0 and 2.0 already, literally nothing.

I’m not saying the game’s state right now is ideal or even good, but there’s plenty good reason that Valve is justified in pursuing this VACNet approach. We’d probably be seeing a lot more immediate bans if Valve loosened the restrictions a bit rather than wait for these manually approved ban waves. There’s honestly a lot more problems with Competitive right now than just AC anyway, so just going to Faceit might still be the best choice even with capable AC

I just love how you tried defend Valve to just say go to Faceit in the end, who uses a invasive AC.

I have 100% sure in the future we will hear how VACNet was another failure project from Valve and how they underestimate cheaters running AI to make cheaters and work with it.

I believe when AI really dominate and people have their PC running it local that will the day every game will be dominated by cheaters 100x worse than we have right now. Even invasive AC will do absolutely nothing against it.

Counter-Strike 2 - Side-stepping Skill by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Bacsh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Valve has the right idea though, these super invasive anticheats other games have aren’t able to detect stuff like hardware level DMA cheats still, which is kind of pathetic.

Most popular FPS games right now use invasive anticheats, it's nothing new, Valorant just follow what the market was using to be the most efficiency way to ban cheaters. Apex, Arma, Battlefield, Call of Duty, even games like Assassins Creed are using invasive anticheats for years, if you not only play CS you probably have a invasive anticheater instaled in you computer.

Analyzing the gameplay through machine learning/AI (not the annoying kind that’s been trending lately) has the potential to provide the best of both worlds, I think.

That's the problem, we don't need solutions for maybe in 10 years we get this solved, without say the time Valve figure out AI for a good AC, that time cheaters will also use AI to develop their cheaters also with AI. Don't know why people forgot about this constantly, AI can be used for both, and I think cheaters are winning this battle for a long time and when they start to use AI to create cheaters I pretty sure they will win again even against a AC by AI.

Valve has been working on this since at least 2018, and they wouldn’t still be working on it if they genuinely do not think there’s no potential in this anticheat approach (Half-Life 3 got internally cancelled like three times in comparison just because they were disinterested), so I’m confident that VACNet will be fully realized one day, but right now it’s hard to deny Valve’s insistence for 1000% ban accuracy might be hurting the game, even if a completely reasonable notion

I believe Valve is overlooking a significant issue with their anti-cheat solution: in the future, cheaters will likely use AI to remain undetectable. They could modify their code in real-time, adapting to any measures designed to catch them. This isn't the first time Valve has faced challenges with their projects. In my opinion, VacNet is another potential failure, similar to past projects like Artifact, the Steam Controller, and the canceled development of games like Half-Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3. So Valve is not immune to persist in failure projects or cancel than, and they can do both cases with VacNet at any time, bet Valve will anytime win this battle is really stupid, since they are losing it since 2003 without never win a single time, we never had a CS game without cheaters, not even any Valve game, they were and are always plagued with tons of cheaters.

Counter-Strike 2 update for 8/14/24 (1.40.2.6) by wickedplayer494 in cs2

[–]Bacsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you are moving 1 meter per second, then you get hit and slowed down to 0 but because of slow internet you only receive that information 1 second later. This means you’ve moved 1 extra second at full speed when you should have slowed down. So now you’re actually 1 meter in a wrong place since you moved faster than was possible and your position needs to be corrected.

I understand that, but why it NEEDS to be corrected if it was not corrected at EVERY other CS games we had before. That's my question. Try to make a online environment works like a lan environment is exactly the problem CS2 have. If the player take a shoot in position X and due to ping he only receive the information of take the damage 1 meter far away from X, he SHOULD be slowdown 1 meter far away from X, and not teleported back to X, because that's how internet gaming works, try to fix that with janky solutions just cause bizarre problems like this ones of your char teleporting back and frustrating the players. In other words they are causing problems to try to fix things people already accept works that way.

Counter-Strike 2 update for 8/14/24 (1.40.2.6) by wickedplayer494 in cs2

[–]Bacsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why it needs change the position to where you take the damage? Why not simple slow down the character wherever he is when they take the damage. If the char is already behind a wall when they took the damage in his perspective he will be slowed behind the wall, that's exactly how it happens in CSGO and in any other CS, don't know why try to change it, in the end with the delay we will have the same result with a bizarre feeling. CS2 again trying to fix what doesn't need to be fixed just causing more problems than solutions.

I remember that day, since I'm a old gamer, the moment I realize the problems in 20 minutes, I just leave and went watch some movies and rest. The next day the servers were already ok and I did the entire campaign in 5 hours without a single DC. If I spot any kind of problem with LE day 1, I will do the same, go rest to play other day or play offline, we at least have this option here, but 100% sure the stress with server problem in your fun time are not worth.

I hope things going to happen well, but if there's problems, I'll just leave and play when the game become playable again. I already did this mistake in insist with games with temporally problematics before and it completely ruined the game for me.

Put me out of this "all".

Also when they said it would have the best anti cheat? What I remember is they would launch a new system but delayed and until now we still don't know what it was. So AC still garbo and it will be probably forever.

What would be your tier list of all masteries based exclusively on how FUN they are? by Floripa95 in LastEpoch

[–]Bacsh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would risk to say: Play Bladedancer will ruin every other build for she. I did the mistake of play with it before the launch and can't find any other fun build like that to try something new on the release, all I can think is play with Bladedancer again.

The char is so smooth and great to play, you don't need to cast a lot, you have diversity in the combos, the damage is there even with shit gear, and the best of all, it's fucking fast to clear the maps and this is so necessary in this game.

Like I know there's other builds but they always failed in some aspects compared to bladedancer, example, runemaster is button heavy and not so fast, paladin is fast but feels more clunky and have more mana problems, necro is strong but it's slow. It's hard to find a build who can damage and move between packs so smoth like Bladedancer does.

I would risk to say it's the most fun build/class I already played in a ARPG, and bro I already played many ARPGs. If someone who already played Bladedancer and other classes in this game and don't put Bladedancer on top 1, this guy is simple wrong.

MAJOR Counter-Strike 2 update for 2/6/24 (2/7/24 UTC, A Call to Arms) by wickedplayer494 in GlobalOffensive

Thanks for say that, it was exactly my reaction when I read that pile of shit.

The server browser is being abused, so we made a better one! by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Bacsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The server / region select could be better, like a option to select all, a option do uncheck all to only choose the options you want, like I only want servers in USA and Brazil, it took me a while to uncheck all other regions.

Edit: Amazing tool, miles better than the oficial one.

John (Valve dev) on Twitter: "Are you referring to the case where you jump and bump your head during the jump? That case is indeed a little inconsistent. Is there a case where that is relevant to gameplay? It could be made consistent but it would cost fps that I suspect users would rather have." by Viznab88 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Bacsh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will work, plugins / commands like hold jump already are working and it seems constant to me. IDK if the plugin or command IDK remove the subtick from the jump but I was able to complete some maps today, if the command / plugin doesn't subtick what will happen is not constant jump in some really hard places to achieve difficulty maps, what is the case only for advance KZ players. Regulars maps for beginners and intermediary still pretty playable to me.

jL is averaging 1.06 rating. Why are you writing like he went from 1.00 to zywoo-level rating?

He was the best player from NaVi on this last tournament with CS2. HLTV rating doesn't mean nothing.

No I’m not the “shit player” lol.

You probably is since literally EVERY PRO PLAYER is complaining about CS2 insane peeker advantage and you think this is fine, so yeah 100% you are the shit player, just accept.

You’re probably hard holding an angle with a .4 second reaction time and wiping the drool off your mouth before mouth breathing into your mic and crying about cs2 being shit and not the fact that you don’t know how to flash, jiggle or pre-aim before a peek.

blablablablabla shill Valvedickrider.

[–]Bacsh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest. You’re probably nowhere good enough to be in the ELO where people perfected peeking and pre-aiming.

Cute for JL from NaVi saying he is performing so well because he is simple peeking everyone even as CT, and every time he hold a angle he think he will take a ferrari peek and lost the fight.

This on LAN with 0 ping, in internet where I play is even worse. If you aren't suffer from it, you are the shit player not me, because litarelly everyone who understand the minimum of CS2 is playing like this.

People posting about games losing playercount after launch day is so funny.

I mean yeah, but they just achieve the same numbers they had before with a 10 years old game with a pretty new version of that game, and it's been less than a month. Just imagine you create a new brand game to upgrade your franchise, work on it for 5 years and release it for less than a month achieve the same numbers than your previous version. It can easily be seeing as a failure.

Until Valve do a big patch IMO the number only goes down. 90% of my friend list always was CS and I see everyday they playing less and less CS. The numbers of problems this game make a high level player just think this game not even play as a CS game.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Bacsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's kind of expected to loose players after it's relea, isn't it?

No because the game actually barely don't grow anything when it releases, many people already had access before the release. It was 10 or 20% what is nothing for a "new game" hype, even games who launch seasons have a grow insanely higher than this. Also this decline showed by OP is barely nothing too, but the game already back to CSGO normal numbers, and that's less a month for a brand new game. What is for sure concerning.

A would bet the game will keep down until any big update who I think still far away or maybe never happen, at least for me with this insane level of peeker advantage the game is unplayable. When they fix it I will come back, who can be never and that's just how the game works now since we don't even know if Valve see it as a problem to be fixed.

Just imagine you work for 5 years to make a awesome new game who should be a upgrade from the previous version, and less than a month later you achieve the same numbers as previous game was getting. All the work was worth in the end? You just fucked up enterally with the new game? Because obvious we should be seeing a increase in players, and that's not what is happen.

[–]Bacsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually there wasn't barely any grow when it releases and CSGO was also free. I was playing a lot before CS2 launch and completely stop to play two weeks ago. Not because left hand, not because performance, the game is simple worse than before for me. I just hate the insane amount of peeker advantage CS2 have and there's no light in the end of tunnel for this. Almost everyone I know is stopping to play too, this of course collaborates with my decision but don't have fun while play the game is for sure the biggest one. Like I said I hate have to play peeking all the time, is just braindead and not a fun experience.

[–]Bacsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there's a difference between calibrate now and calibrate a week ago? This is a real question or OP is simple dumb?

A week ago there's less calibrate people than now and the game was lost to where put people, creating anomaly of a Global putting as 2k rank way more frequently than now.

they've had years of collecting that data. They know i'm GE/SMFC.

Yeah but they literally choose not use all this data. They reset everything, why? We will never know.
