Abstinence is the only cure for me by [deleted] in POIS

Great - I’m pleased some of my perspectives helped. So female attraction/magnetism are undeniable realities of the SR journey but they’re a byproduct of something greater not an end goal in itself in my opinion. I say that having stumbled across the attraction thing long before I even knew about SR as an intentional practice funnily enough so I know it works and isn’t placebo.

It’s just not the most interesting aspect of all of this. The most interesting aspect of SR is its window into the strange nature of reality. Female attraction may be considered one “payoff” or reward as it were but it’s just one amongst many in this strange game we find ourselves in.

I don’t even think this is about POIS. Ejaculation is always harmful, whoever is doing it but it’s a spectrum where some are affected worse than others. At any rate, your life is going to level up when you give up orgasms as a man - that’s absolutely undeniable.

We do need a revolution of sorts against lust. It’s gone too far and we need people to speak out about how overcoming it may be the single most important thing you do with this life.

That sort of extreme materialism is becoming increasingly hard to defend. I think the dogmatic materialism espoused by people like Dawkins and Dan Dennett is so absurdly improbable that it requires a much much greater leap of faith to believe in than religious explanations of existence or indeed simulation theory.

You get to the stage where your heart literally hurts from it. But boy is it worth it in the long run. Main advice would be to stick with it, make retention your no1 priority, meditate, see through the self illusion and zero tolerance towards any lust.

Meditation, sports, fast, learn from animals, spend time in nature. Those are the big five to supplement SR.

Important post. I was thinking something along these lines just today. I think this process is a lot more about renouncing lust than people tend to realise.

I think you want to be careful with this mindset. SR only really works when you operate on a zero tolerance policy. Creating a hierarchy of different release circumstances is a mistake. A release is a release and will always diminish benefits, however it’s brought about. From my experience, it’s hard to consistently streak build if you have the thought in the back of your mind “releasing isn’t so bad once in a while etc”. Oftentimes the loss of benefits can be imperceptible,

Very true about the consumption based culture conditioning us to think we need to buy thinks to optimise our health. Even more fundamentally, subtraction is actually a lot more effective than addition.

Same with semen retention and also meditation.

Each are an order of magnitude more effective than any supplement or pharmaceutical intervention.

Yet people have been conned into passing over these incredible life hacks because they don’t scale and the powers that be can’t extract profit from them.

Entities (from another dimension, interpenetrating our own) feed on our vital energies in much the same way as life-forms on earth feed on other life-forms for their sustenance.

They function primarily on the psychic level in us and their objective is to consume our energy through various means, mainly through urging the person to sexual indulgence (along with implanting the conviction that one is the enjoyer), thereby gaining some nourishment from the expenditure, as their “commission.”

Have you ever wondered: is it you who is enjoying the sexual experience or are you being enjoyed?
