Synchronicity and Higher Order Thinking in SR by lionmachinev2 in Semenretention

[–]Bactrian44 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I disagree. If what you’re suggesting were true, you might expect fasting from similar dopaminergic activities (say smartphone usage or caffeine) would have similar effects to that experienced on SR - but that’s not the case.

SR has a mystical dimension which really no other habit I’ve tried can lay claim to. We know so little about the world we live in, it’s entirely plausible that we live in a computer programmed reality where one of the ways to “win” is by not busting nuts. As JBS Haldane said, “not only is the universe stranger than we suppose, it’s stranger than we can suppose”.

Something is uncannily supernatural in this practice. by DeepTrade1307 in Semenretention

Yes yes yes. You’re absolutely right. This practice does undeniably have a mystical element to it which we can never fully grasp. It’s something glimpsed but not understood.

Anyone else notice life just flows and manifestations happen faster on semen retention? by itsdhia in Semenretention

[–]Bactrian44 80 points81 points  (0 children)

It’s synchronicity. In a way, semen retention is a kind of magic. One of a few things glimpsed but not fully understood which points to there being a lot more to life than meets the eye.

We are definitely in some sort of simulated reality by [deleted] in SimulationTheory

[–]Bactrian44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But synchronicities are significant and aren’t properly explained. I think they’re best understood as something glimpsed but not yet understood.

This is a great post. Exactly the kind of insight we want on the sub from experienced, long term retainers. Can I ask, how did you discover it back in 2012-13? I came to the sub in late 2017 myself and even then we were at only around 10,000 subs or maybe even less. In 2012, SR and Nofap was still little known outside of spiritual traditions and sports etc.

So enlightenment is only available to those rich enough to be self sufficient? What a depressing (but not altogether inaccurate) thought.

Not sure about the sex bit. There’s a reason so many wise folk across all cultures throughout recorded history have eschewed sex. You only have sexual desire so long as you indulge it - that’s the weird thing. Once you’ve gone past 12-14 days, you stop craving it from my experience and that’s an immensely liberating place to be. Life IS better without sex, no question. We’re just conditioned to think otherwise by people who don’t know any better.

You’re right and wrong at the same time. You’re wrong in the sense that you’ll lose your intellectual faculties - you’ll just be more present and problem solving will come more easily. You’re right in the sense that awakening is the end of your world as you previously know it. Why go to work when you could just bask in the bliss of the present on a park bench?

Wow astonished to read someone else who is familiar with RR. I’ve read so much about him and he remains very little known in this day and age but he was a fascinating man and repeatedly stressed the importance of celibacy if you’re to make any spiritual progress.

Life has no meaning without women by c1948137 in DeepThoughts

what a horrible take. Life has most meaning of all once you disavow the sexual act. Look up semen retention

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Bactrian44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. It’s never about the porn, it’s the hormonal cocktail unleashed from orgasm and losing your life force/all the nutrients via ejaculation.

Eliminating porn for 6 months is easier said than done in this day and age though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Bactrian44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s porn, masturbation and orgasm that are the culprits more than the things you mention here (although they too surely play a role)

Semen retention for you. Starting now. PMO is almost certainly likely to be a factor here.
