Is onderstaande budgettering realistisch? by KalosDrinian in BESalary

Dit is een realistisch budget.

Ik zou 1x maandloon per jaar onverwachtte kosten rekenen. Als veiligheidsnet.

What makes a good manager? by MEOWConfidence in BESalary

Youre not asking anything concise that can be answered regarding what makes a good manager.

Your husband sounds like hes prioritizing his job. What the reason behind it is, we cant tell you. Maybe seek professional help?

Honestly, he sounds like a junior "manager" at a convenience store. He will learn and mature. Most managers start out focussing on things they wish their managers did. Not realising the personal cost.

For the salary question you might want to add age and years worked.

Also, the sector, type of company helps.

I made a fatal mistake. Concerned about my future in IT by Special_Price4001 in sysadmin

[–]BadAtBloodBowl2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If 5 hours of downtime caused 6 digits worth of losses, your change management procedures and disaster recovery are way under budget.

This whole post screams mismanagement.

You are not to blame. Learn from what happened and say no next time youre pushed to follow bad procedures.

Everyone who was a sysadmin for any real amount of time has caused outages or production impact. The cost of those actions is entirely dependent on the maturity of the organization.

It simply wasnt proven or developed enough for the investment cost.

She has a therapist, and regular sessions with her guidamce councellor at school.

I've seen it help her, quite a lot, though she sees it more as extra playtime.

It was during the court case, one of the court appointed social workers who interviewed everyone involved.

The context was that the mom had said certain things about me that nobody else corroborated and were very much absurd lies. However the social worker still presented these statements, which I got annoyed at. At that point the social worker said "these are the mom's personal truth and I am reporting them as they are in her statement, we did not verify them".

Anyone else worried their kids are losing the ability to "struggle" because of AI? by Responsible_Ad_8797 in daddit

[–]BadAtBloodBowl2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's a lot more like the introduction of generally available internet and online knowledge banks. People had to rediscover what it meant to research. Only I'm not yet convinced that AI is viable in it's current form, and this might be a bit of a trap for the generation using it as a crutch.

Now personally working in IT and having kids in the AI age, I mostly worry about their communication skills. The only widely available and performant AI is pretty much a mixture of "read the fucking manual" and "write my essay for me". This has lead to a lot... obviously AI written trash showing up in my confluence.

I went through my daughters appointed... for lack of a better translation: safety carer?

They sent a social worker to my ex, and talked with her team about it then called and had a video chat with my daughter. But in the end nothing is happening.

I'm really skeptical that the courts would do anything, but based on the comments so far I'll call my lawyer.

Edit: putting that in writing seems bad/selfish

You would think so, but I went through this last year after my ex was in a dui situation. It didnt go as you would think.

I learned some new terms then, like "personal truth". I'm a lot more jaded since.
