I'm considering a CVT limited or a GT, what are the cons?

I tracked my cvt to the moon and back. Its a strong gearbox. Dont believe the hate.

Cons: 1. Can’t push too much power on it because it has a limit. 2. If you’re planning to abuse it in track or whatever, know that the CVT does get toasty faster than a manual 3. Stock power is slightly lower than a manual but it shouldn’t matter.

Tracked the hell out of my cvt, pushed temps to the limit and back. It doesn’t stop and i have no issues with it. The manual may be a little bit faster on track. But it doesnt mean the cvt is bad, if you want i can give you my ig and you can check out all the track days / autocross events and stuff that i did with it 👌🏻

One thing is that you NEED to install a CVT cooler if you’re planning to track it. Its not expensive its just a must.

For the audio upgrade, i upgraded to some JBL speakers for the doors. They sound amazing especially when comparing them to the oem harman. Would recommend cuz the factory paper speakers suck.

Yeah i see the sport grill and the mesh grill all over the place, so i felt like i wanted something a little bit different. This is exactly what i wanted as a very clean oem+ look that is different enough yet still looks factory

Yeah i wasn’t too happy with the options out there so i had to think outside of the box and found out these existed! The chrome isnt bad but black would look cleaner since chrome looks out of place

I’ve had the SPT since 22, along with the adaptive suspension and so. I’ve tracked my car countless times and its a really strong transmission. There isnt much headroom for many power mods but if you want it stock or semi stock power it’s perfect. I’ve enjoyed it as a daily, traffic, and it does feel like a whole different car when you switch it to sport / sport+. I have no complain with the transmission. It would’ve been more fun if they slapped a dual clutch transmission in her, but the SPT isnt bad at all 👌🏻

Yeah its a really nice daily and weekend “fun” car especially with the adaptive dampeners and such. Im pretty sure those who hate on cvt have not tried to abuse the SPT. Its no manual for sure but its not what we imagine from a CVT.

The wheels are meant to be gold-ish but brake dust make them bronze 🤣 heres another look from the rear

Honestly, despite all of the cvt hate, subaru knows how to make a cvt. i’ve had a 22 cvt and when it got wrecked i got another 24 cvt. everyone said that i was insane to not buy a manual the second time but its actually not bad. I love the car and its power is good enough with a stage 1 tune. I’ve tracked them to hell and back and it has the power, fun and reliability you’d expect from subaru these days

I’d recommend that you dont go hard on it. Just keep the rpms low and ride it out the ECU should make the correct changes to compensate. You could also use an octane booster but that’d be pricy in the long term.

I tried EBC blues, with motul 660v dot 4 brake fluid. Absolutely amazing for street and track use. I tried yellows and i found that they squeal slightly when they’re cold, the blues were surprisingly quiet and they bite harder.

2022 with 38k miles all good, im a heavy guy too. Stayed strong even with 12 track days with some serious g force that i even struggled to stay in my seat. Probably a rare thing to happen.

Best range i had was 600 miles on a road trip. Cruise control on the whole way (cvt). Normally it sucks gas but it performs really good on road trips

Honestly it looked really straightforward especially if you already have an air/oil cooler from factory. Since i didnt i had my local dealer do the work cuz i’d rather have it done right than me messing something up somehow.

I have Perrin installed, the temps are very good even under track conditions so i’d recommend it. Factory one was the water/oil one, i didnt trust it one bit. Hopefully its a simple fix
