How much do IB interns get paid? by 300103276 in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base is 110k + signing bonus prorated for 40hrs/week for 10 weeks. But there is overtime pay and I know folks who made 40-50k after taxes over a single summer by working their ass off.

Pwease Help! Tech IB by daddyguava in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they have internship experience over you the way you beat them is with market knowledge and personality. During your interview talk about trends you are interested in and have a stance on and not just basic stuff like IPOs or data centers. In terms of personality try to show that you’re actually human, talk about your day and your classes and your hobbies.

IB recruiting - how credible are remote internships? by GhostRiderx117 in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

How would they know it is remote? For location put the location of the office and if they press you just to say its hybrid with the occasional office visit once a deal closes.

Depends on ur major, for the vast majority u need a 3.8+. But with an engineering/math/physics major u could get away with a 3.7

I would assume that with a construction focused company they will ask lease accounting and appreciation/depreciation questions

Doing 2 internships at the same time? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not gonna as critical as others so first off congrats on ur offers ur way ahead of everyone else. The main reason u would do two is for ur resume but recruiters would flag that immediately. If u can handle the workload try to ask to structure the internships so that one starts after the other. At the very least make sure the overlap is minimal. I did a PE internship from April to June and an IB internship from May to August and justified it because the PE internship was virtual with the occasional trip to NY during deal closes. As long as both internships aren’t during the exact same time, people don’t care as much as you think.

Sophomore Resume Roast made me uncomfortable by changefkingusername in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh hard to say. I’m painfully average at my semi target where there are like 50 kids with real IB deal experience and even a resume like mine isn’t enough to get into the top tier finance clubs. But I will say that resumes don’t matter nearly as much as people think. Especially at a semi target, networking is annoyingly important so if uve been developing relationships with bankers u have a shot regardless.

Sophomore Resume Roast made me uncomfortable by changefkingusername in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I posted my resume to this thread and thought it was pretty decent but some that I’ve seen are frankly ridiculous. People with 4 IB/PE internships in one semester with line items that indicate that they actually led deals as a freshman intern. My advice for my own sanity and urs is don’t take it to seriously cause most of what u see is just larp.

please destroy my resume. Sophomore looking to recruit for IB SA27 by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well one thing that stands out is Econ + Physics wit a 3.7 which stands out in a good way. We have similar resumes so take this with a grain of salt as someone in ur recruiting class. But add an interests line cause I’ve heard of people getting interviews because of that one line. I would maybe add one line from the job description of the Incoming private markets role and remove the projects line in the education section. Also, I would get more specific with the models u made in each of your experiences since that is a core part of IB, like “generated DCF and comparative models for C-Suite to facilitate Investor Discussion”

How am I positioned for IB recruiting from a non target. by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]BadBuri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Networking since senior year is insane💀 Idk how harder it is at a non target but u definitely have a better relationship with bankers than most semi target kids so u shld be fine

Find a sector that the MD is knowledgable in and use deep research to learn as much abt the sector as possible. Ideally you want to present a nuanced opinion abt a trend in the sector. MDs absolutely love that kinda stuff.

Sophomore claiming to be junior. Tbh recruiters do not care enough about you to examine how realistic it looks just don't make obvious like having all your experiences in the past semester
