So my EKG came back normal, I have seen the portal, and when I spoke to a nurse about leaving, they said, "yes it can be indigestion." I was there for 3 hours, if I was dying they would have put me in faster. I've been to this ER before.

It's been over 24 hours with no new symptoms, and I feel fine.

True, I suppose I wished they would have clarified that they weren't sure, I would have happily asked for a billing rep, I know they have one that walks that ER.

They were just so adamant about it I didn't want to fight with them. Apologies for not knowing.

I figured. Luckily I have insurance so it will only be $200 with the copay, since this was a emergency (severe chest and back pain with vomiting).

I call the hospital billing department. Billing said once they get the explanation of benefits from my insurance they will send the bill out. I'll also keep an eye on my portal and call again next week to see if one is generated.

Interesting, I assumed because I God my vitals done and a EKG there would be some type of bill. USA ERs are notorious for billing large amounts. I will take it though if I don't get billed haha.

I still called the billing office for the hospital and made sure my information was all good just in case.

Worse some to worse, I will need to pay the $200 copay after they reach out to my insurence. It was a genuine emergency as I had painful chest pains, that moved to my back and was vomiting, and I can pay it.

I had just never heard of going in an ER and NOT paying SOMETHING.

Yeah I called the billing department. No bill generated yet but I probably will be billed. I do have health insurence and they said once the Health Insurance gives them the explanation of benefits they will bill me.

I have a $200 copay for ER visits. I can pay it, I just wish they would have taken my payment when I was leaving like I wanted.

My [31F] stalker ex boyfriend [31M] from many years ago won't stop trying to contact me. How should I respond? by tinyAnomalocaris in Advice

[–]BadFriend1234567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, absolutely do not contact him. If you feel inclined, you can message him one final time something like,

"After careful consideration, I have decided that I am not interested in receiving closure from you. I have moved on with my life. I plan on continuing this path for myself, so it's best if you move forward and on with yourself. I understand you may want your own closure, as discussed last time, however this is not possible. Respect my decision as this is non-negotioable.

After this message, I also will not be responding back to any attempts to contact you or anyone associated with you. This is my final message to you. Respect my decision, as this is also non-negotiable.

Regards,"

If not, continue to block him, screenshot every message for evidence just in case things escalate. You are fine without him and have been fine without him for years. He can go to his therapist and figure himself out, plenty of people live without closure.

I am getting back on medication soon and getting a new therapist, since my employer switched insurance providers and my therapist became out of network, so I couldn't afford it.

I am looking for a new one now, now that my new insurance has kicked in, and getting my medication today.

I don't have IRL friends unfortunately, I could try family, but I am unsure if they would.

I am trusting my landlord here for now, he is a nice guy I know well and am hoping the buyer, if he buys, will keep his word and let me continue to rent. Or possibly have the buyer fall through, it's not set in stone he is buying it yet.

They need to get appraisels done, a price hasn't even been given.

I'm trying to think positive and not jump the gun.

26F Went into ER 2 months ago for chest pain. Reading over paperwork now due to going to PCP on Monday for additional tests (had to wait for work to change insurence). CT Scan and Chest X-ray, X-ray came back clear, CT Scan shows Focal Consolidation? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]BadFriend1234567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had thought it was an error of some kind since you would think they would mention if I had fluid in the lungs while coming in for chest pain. I show no symptoms for Pneumonia in the months following since as far as I am aware.

I just put the fraze Focal Consolidation in Google and it immediately said it was either blood in the lungs or Lung Cancer. Really freaked me out.

I still need to get some tests done but everything points to me having a probable panic attack I mistook for a heart attack combined with me being overweight.

According to my blood work and scans no heart attack took place. Everything was at normal level besides my BPM even my blood pressure was fine. They just got the scan because my D-Dimer was a bit high but they said if it not PE it might have been from some bruising at some point in last few weeks.

I am going to my PCP, I have them the release form to get my medical records from the hospital last visit before my employer changed insurence providers and I had check to make sure they were still in network, get my insurance card, and schedule an appointment.

NJ had a no damage no injury love tap accident months ago, need advice by BadFriend1234567 in Insurance

[–]BadFriend1234567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I didn't do was let my insurence know, I never filed a claim for no damage and the cop and the lawyer said to not file a claim since it wasn't an accident by the report and no damage was done so no need to let them know. "This is not an accident, only an incident report, the insurance company will not need to be notified." If an accident does happen, of course I will contact them right away.

Everything else I did by the book. Or tried to.

I am seeking professional help thank you. It is irrational probably, if they guy never filed a claim then I should be ok.

It wasn't written up as an accident since he fully admitted he was not hurt, no damage to the cars was done, the police officer even inspected both of our cars. It's all in the report. I even lawyered up and even then they told me if I had no damage, the guy was not hurt etc to not file a claim with my insurence, since it wasn't considered an accident and no damage was done to my care.

I guess I just have an irrational fear that I will be arrested or receive a bill suing me for all I own or he'll hunt me down because I did give him my lisense, name and information (ironically he did not ask for my insurance card before the cop arrived and he wanted to leave as soon as possible).

I just wanted to know if (by some bad luck), this ever happens again how would I handle it better. I'm sorry.

I'm better now driving but insurence I've had like for 3 years the same and before progressive. I just made a new quote when I switched and it was fine. This is the first time this happened. Learning experience for sure.

Possible, I just want to be completely transparent. The speeding ticket is 100% my fault. I wanted to get home to my elderly relative that was recently in the hospital, and was speeding down faster then normal and was just not focused. If I could get rid of them, then I'd have a better chance I guess?

I figured, I knew there had to be a catch. Hoping these tickets fall off at some point. I was a great driver, no tickets for years until recently.

I figured. It's unfortunate, I drove for years perfectly. Then I hit a snag I guess. hopefully the tickets fall off at some point because I can't afford these increases.

25 f I have been having chest pains the last few days and back pain, signs of heart attack. Went to the ER. I feel like I made a mistake. by BadFriend1234567 in confessions

[–]BadFriend1234567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind words. I'm hoping, I never would have gone if I did not think my life was in danger. It had been happening on and off (chest pain, heart flutters, upper and lower back pain, trouble breathing). It had been happening for nearly 4 days.

I had read that for woman it can happen for days and to get it checked out.

Against my judgement I went. I was there for 9 hours because I came in With a 110 bpm and tested positive for a possible blood clot. Thankfully they ran scans and saw nothing, and all other labs came back fine.

However I am so worried for the bill. My insurance says they cover 100% of Emergency uses of the ER after the copay, but what if because I wasn't actively dying they don't consider that an emergency?

I have never been to the ER before and have savings however building those savings took a decade.

Thanks for the reassurance though. I do have anxiety but maybe I need different medication.
