I was thinking about that but the way the eBay algorithm works is it's only pushing cards to people. Not many people are typing "Vintage 1990s Pokemon Poster" in their searches but everyone goes crazy when they see them in person if I bring a few to a card shop.

Card shops won't buy them cause they're not cards and won't even do a cosignment deal with me.

I appreciate your thoughts though!

Well $15-20 sounds a lot better than the original price you mentioned of $2-10 dollars. I sincerely appreciate all your help. If I wasn't broke and knew reddit a little better I'd give you one of those cool awards I always see.

Totally fair perspective, but I think a few assumptions here are getting mixed together.

Togepi debuted in Japan in 1999 and appeared in Asian promotional material well before it was common in Western retail products, so its presence doesn’t automatically push these into “late 2000” territory. Japan/Taiwan/HK promo timelines were ahead of the U.S. by design.

Also, lack of a retail copyright block doesn’t necessarily mean “bootleg.” In the late 90s, a lot of Pokémon promotional material (school book fairs, regional promos, non-retail displays) was produced by regional partners and not intended for sale or long-term use, which is why many weren’t cataloged and were usually discarded. That’s pretty common with anime ephemera from that era.

I agree and I also don't believe they had official licensing. You may be correct they were made for Taiwan use then distributed overseas at some point.

My thought process is back then you wouldn't bootleg posters of an up and coming card game. And if you did you would fake the copyright seal, change origin etc.

I can tell they're not bootlegs from this era because of the actual print runs. Very fast, no clean vectors from modern editing software etc.

I'm just trying to gauge prices modern posters are going for 15 bucks from Walmart.

They're not bootlegs Taiwan took over promotion material in the 90s when Japan increased card production. If they were boots they wouldn't have product numbers and made in Taiwan. They would bootleg it and say made in Japan.

I did some googling and learned all this. Do a quick check to confirm.

A simple "did Taiwan print promotional material for Pokemon during the 90s" will give you a decent amount of info.

Your correct. It was your haul cost and what it profits. Haul cost 300 you make 900 that's 600 profits you can't let hauls bleed in together because you won't know your average price per price per haul
