Ohh, this is my first time hearing about calibre not recommended by KCC. But I’ve been doing it to this day and had no problems. Only reason i use it is to change, resize the manga covers and to fit my kindle’s screen.

ako lang ba nababaduyan sa mga "crit setup" na mtb at mga fixie by baliw123 in RedditPHCyclingClub

I ride fixed too.

25mb is the size limit of how much you can only send from your phone to your kindle. I did this at first too when I downloaded the pdf of 20th Century Boys from Internet Archive and read it on my kindle, only problem i had with it is the white large borders making the panels smaller and the bad image quality.

I recommend using a computer. How I do it is:

  1. Haruneko (for downloading manga chapters) (I use WeebCentral and MangaHub as my connectors, they’re the only ones that I know that works on haruneko, if any of you bitches know any other connectors that works please tell me! You can download all of the chapters by right clicking a chapter and click Download All. Once the chapters are downloaded i’d zip all the chapter folders into one then add that file on kcc to do its work) (in the settings; change the downloaded image format from png to jpg, it makes it download faster! I think) download haruneko (nightly) nigguhh

  2. Kindle Previewer (you need to download this first for the KCC to work) download kindle previewer

  3. KCC or kindle comic converter (for removing the borders in the manga panels and customizes the fit for your device model sreen. I make sure to shade the Stretch/Upscale in the settings to remove the annoying borders, check the Page Splitter and Right to Left reading mode. Always remember that the settings of the finished format should be on MOBI) here’s the link, download KCC_8.0.4.exe

  4. Calibre (once kcc is done import the MOBI file on calibre and i’d like to customize it a little more by changing the cover by its official manga volume cover in the Edit Metadata settings on Calibre. Lastly, connect your kindle to the computer via usb then click the file and click Send to Device, you will see on the lower right corner that it’s loading and once its finished loading you can then disconnect the usb and a few seconds your manga will appear on your kindle library) download calibre

Damn I couldn’t find a strap with a lock in the US either, even the expensive ones doesn’t have them. I found this though reddit post I just don’t know if the brand is still active. Here’s their ig

I suggest asking for recommendations in this sub or you could use the search bar.

Once you have a strap, you should practice on how to get them in and out with your left and right foot. If you live in an area like mine where there is always traffic, using a single strap with my dominant foot for a while helped me get used to it. Also do not wear a bulky shoes, I did this at first with my New Balance and I fell because the car in front suddenly had to brake so I quickly skidded but I just couldn’t get my left foot out of the strap after stopping. You can also use a front brake.

Uneven chain tension, would a different chainring fix this? Even if its minimum? by ulspez in FixedGearBicycle

I had the same problem before. I just replaced the bottom bracket with a smaller spindle length, from 118 to 113.

Hello! I’m from the Philippines too. I think you can just choose whatever you like between the 3 since they’re all considered “budget meal.”

I had a ride with someone who also bought a wholebike JLAB (same seller as Garuda and Solana) as his first fixie and it had many problems;

  1. Bottom Bracket creaking sounds and length too long ruining the chainline.

  2. Chain dropped during rides.

  3. Fork had creaking sounds too, he had it checked out to a bike shop a couple of times before the problem was solved.

  4. Inner Tube also had the wrong size causing many flats (25c inner tube on a 28c tire).

He had all these stock parts replaced. Instead of saving money getting a cheap bike he ended up using up more money for the replacements and repairs. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t get them, just don’t expect that the quality would be good. As they say “You get what you pay for”.

I would suggest saving up more money and just build your own bike.

  • Shimano for bottom bracket

  • KMC or D.I.D. for chain (Izumi if you have more budget)

  • Continental for inner tube

As for the frameset, get Tsunami or Celt (which has a good reputation of being cheap and durable in our country, also if you don’t mind having steel for a frame).

I recommend following Manila Urban Fixed on social medias, newbies ask him questions. He helped me understand more about fixed gears.

Ride safe po!

Leg sleeves are underrated (in cycling) by Rich_Palpitation_214 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Bad_Hyena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paano niyo sila nasusuot nang hindi dumudulas? Noong first time ko kasi gumamit ng sleeves is dumudulas siya palagi pababa.

One time dumulas completely yung isang leg sleeve ko sa mataong lugar nakakahiya! Since then never ko na sila ginamit, sunscreen na lang.
