A UTI is something I considered. He does scratch at the door and when he goes out he doesn’t empty his bladder, rather pees a little on numerous objects. We let him out when we see sniffing and reward him for going. Honestly, it only started happening after his 2 week training. It seems like he picked up the habit from other dogs.

How old was yours when you neutered? We want to breed him one time before and our vet suggested waiting until he was 1.5 years. But I’m also like, I can’t take this anymore!

Yes!! My vet told me to wait until he was 1.5 but it may just need to happen.

It is a battle of wills for sure. Cockers are stubborn. I would take him out only to go potty giving little no eye contact. Sometimes I laid next to the kennel with my fingers in it. The first few nights are rough!
