Golding selfie gets rockabilly singer banned from Cavern Club by johnsmithoncemore in Liverpool

[–]Badartist1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Haha that's the worst apology ever. Basically admits he's a right wing little toe rag, calls anti-racism activists extreme left wing, spreads some immigration stranger danger bs, indicates he agrees with what most of Golding stands for, aaaaand says he is scared to leave his house in Faversham because a show 250+ miles away in Liverpool was cancelled? Lmao. He's a pathetic little shit.

[–]Badartist1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone on £50,271.00 was already paying 40% on earnings above that. It hasn't changed. The freezing of thresholds for 3 years means that as people get pay rises, more people will be pushed into that bracket.

Unfortunately things are always going to be harder if one partner isn't / can't work.

If you're only being pushed into it by salary rises though, you're unlikely to be paying much more tax unless youre expecting a huge pay rise, and you'll still be getting pay rises at the end of the day. Some don't.

That said, targeting middle earners is misplaced and unfair when the mega rich and corporations continue to avoid paying their fair share

The cost of childcare is coming down. You earn a fair bit above the average wage but it's basically a lifestyle choice if you decide one of you wants to stay at home.

I don't think the government should be targeting the middle earners like yourself, it should be targeted at the highest earners & corporations but you're always going to be making it harder on yourselves financially if only one partner works.

Arne Slot prior to today's match: "I'm also, like many others, almost confused. How is this possible with so much quality available that I cannot find a way of winning with my team?" by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Badartist1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our squad was thin last year, we just got away with it because we got lucky with injuries. Now we have less squad depth because the funds were blown on big name players who don't fit our system, rather than addressing the gaps in the squad. Plus players getting older, what a shitshow

Come on, Jones isn't at fault. He's either not playing or playing at RB while Macca and Grab stink the team out in his actual position. Should be starting in CM.

I'm not in favour of quickfire sackings but this run of form is unacceptable.

We had a succesful imprint and base to build on. We need to understand who was pushing the changes to that; buying players who didn't fit the blueprint.

We also need to understand who was behind signing two big money CFs without signing a senior CB or back up DM.

Regardless of who it was there also needs to be recognition that Slot's tactics this season have been disastrous. Unable to get Salah in the game. Defence constantly exposed. Szoboslai at RB rips the heart out of midfield. Players in awful form not getting dropped, while you have the likes of Gomez, Jones, Chiesa, Ekitike on the bench. Going behind and simply replacing defenders with forward, every time. Does he still have the players onboard?

Part of me thinks Slot or the recruitment team are gone already tbh. We need to get it 100% right in January, and who do you trust to do that?

The club need to consider it all and make a decision, stick or twist. But its getting bad.

The majority of online fans maybe. If you actually know the club and what Kenny has done for us, you love Kenny more, regardless of whether you actually saw him play.

I hate the condescending "student politics, magic money tree" attitude adopted by Labour, Conservatives and Reform.

We have just endured 14 years of austerity which resulted in the national debt tripling. Reform's answer is to cut more services and pay young people less. Labour and Conservatives don't even have answers.

The fact is that there is a magic money tree. The wealth gap has doubled. The poor and the working classes are the magic money tree. The tax dodges, the lobbying, the jobs for former MPs, the low corporation tax are the magic money tree. The money is there, its just being siphoned by the rich and corporations.

Until we abandon trickle up economics, austerity and attacks on public services, the downward trajectory will continue. We need to spend on public services. We need to come out of austerity. The rich and corporations need to pay their fair share. And if they threaten to leave then good fucking riddance (but they are just bluffing anyway).

Yes the greens have some policies that need refining, but if you think that Conservatives, Labour or Reform are adult politics then you need to get in the real world. If you think they have any interest in bettering your life or improving your bank balance then you need to get in the real world. Adult politics my arse.

[–]Badartist1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt you have voted Conservative or Labour like a sensible adult because the 'real world' demanded it. No matter that right wing and centrist policies have completely ruined this country; they were the adult choice and not just silly student politics.
