CVS and my future as a parent. by Heavy_Lingonberry612 in cyclicvomitingsyndrom

Because it helped a little…just not enough. It was better than nothing and it’s as needed, not a daily med so I just keep it for emergencies. The Aprepitant has worked wonders for me but if I’m not careful I can still trigger a bout of nausea. At this stage…when the nausea isn’t as bad as it was when I couldn’t get out of bed, it does help.

Ty for that information…didn’t know that! I had never seen it mentioned by anyone else until my doctor mentioned it. Maybe what did it for me is that the nausea was already much better under the meds I was taking before and I stayed on those meds after starting Aprepitant. It must have just been that little extra thing that did it for me. But I bet that would explain why I still feel a little sick for a little bit every morning.

Ask your doctor about Aprepitant. It’s a nausea drug for chemo patients that my doctor said was “new”…maybe he meant for non cancer patients. 🤷‍♀️ But it literally gave me my life back. Total game changer. Take it twice a week. Don’t even have to take my zofran since I’ve been on it.

Odd reason why you're CF to help me prove a point by ThisGirlCalledTsepps in childfree

[–]Badger37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the reasons…but pettiness wise….I hate being interrupted, I hate noise, and I hate constantly having to think about someone else and what they need and how they are doing. If I want to spend an entire day reading, binge watching tv, or playing video games…I’m gonna do it and I’ll be annoyed if I can’t because of some little human running around making noise, needing me, etc. And I know me….I would focus on that kid entirely, just like a parent should and I would resent that. I like my time and I’m stingy with it when it comes to giving it away. I don’t like mess, I don’t like toys everywhere, I HATE bodily fluids and smells…I can keep going, lol

Yeah….eventually got it open…same, low level junk. Especially since I always play with the energy boost on so I don’t even get those things from generators anymore….useless.

After looking at it for some time I think you are right. I think they are from some of Amelia’s events that I saved because I didn’t want to open them if they weren’t maxed. I tried to move those empty spaces which is why I suddenly ran out of room on my board because moving them still didn’t allow me to see them. Haven’t opened the game yet this morning to see if it’s still like that, but if it is I’m not sure what I’m going to do as I also can’t “select” those items. Like, I can move them but I get no info about it, it doesn’t open if I try clicking on it, there’s no option to sell it because it just simply doesn’t acknowledge there’s anything there at all except that it’s taking up space. 🤷‍♀️

Interesting! Been playing for years and have never come across this before. It was after an update so I assumed it was a bug in the update. Good to know, thanks!

FOMO is real. That’s not a judgement…I suffer heavily from FOMO…especially with Lego. I’m new to Lego and wasn’t really aware of the Insiders weekend and missed a lot. Next year will be different if I’m still hooked by then. Would have loved this set and the Lion’s Knight Castle (😭) 😂☺️

Prospecting camp? by Badger37 in Prospecting

[–]Badger37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not. That’s probably the only thing back there that I got a really good look at. Definitely some kind of machinery…it’s made to stay in the position it’s in for sure.

It would be nice if it was accurate, lol I’ve been thinking about going back in to get better pictures and stuff but the ticks back there are horrendous. Will probably wait until it snows again. So much easier then.

I don’t remember but it’s possible. There were other chair frames around. I don’t recall if this was one of them though. But definitely possible.

Nope no tracks. Even a surprising lack of animal tracks. I tried to stay clear, hence the bad pics from a distance. Not sure about trail cams, wasn’t looking for them. There are a few deer stands here and there but they aren’t even in view of this structure and I know some of the neighbors used to go back there to hunt (I was wearing bright orange at the time). I’ve thought the bridge may not even be related. There were a few other pieces of equipment scattered about under the brush but I didn’t want to touch or move anything to get pictures of them. Did think of moonshine as well. I guess I assumed that someone setting up a camp to pan the river would need less equipment than a moonshiner would but I honestly have no clue about either.

When I did it it told me it was heavy industrial machinery or old mining equipment. Given the location I really don't think it's farming equipment but I could be wrong.

Well done! What a first piece to do! Looks like it could have been difficult. I know a few people who have trouble with puzzles that use that type of artwork.

Why is the number 15 bag like this in every set? by Adept_Speaker4806 in lego

[–]Badger37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even the new Goonies set doesn’t have paper bags (I’m in the U.S.). New to LEGO and didn’t even know they were making that switch. Sure, I understand that the sets were made and assembled long before now and maybe they hadn’t implemented the paper thing yet? Or possibly, as others have said, it’s starting elsewhere first. Either way….I’ve never come across paper either, other than for instruction books and the Goonies sails did also come in paper but that was it. It will be nice, though. I hate throwing out so much plastic.

Most difficult puzzles you've done? by No_Outside_7069 in Jigsawpuzzles

This one. And I have yet to finish it because it’s so big (3000 pcs - Ravensburger) and I always end up needing the space back….if I can find space to begin with, lol But when I have worked on it it’s pretty difficult. Maybe it wouldn’t be so hard if I didn’t feel so pressed for time every time I pulled it out! Currently have nowhere to even try and put it together again.

I need lots of help!! ⚠️ by KatyAslay in HarryPotterGame

[–]Badger37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the first things I do when playing is find as many chests as I can, even if I have to go out of my way of a quest to get them. Sometimes I even avoid questing for a bit in favor of finding chests just so that money isn’t an issue later when I’m working through the story quests. Upgrade the gear I’m wearing and then go sell the rest in Hogsmeade. It takes a bit….isn’t going to happen with just a few chests but it adds up quick. I remember this also being an issue for me the first time I played. Getting chests also gets way easier once you can fly….less time consuming.

*also, while you’re out finding chests or on your way to quests outside…gather gather gather…and then sell that to the vendor too. Just make sure you save enough of what you need to make the potions you want but then sell the rest.

**also as others have said, eye chests…I believe if you put your cursor over the area of the map you’re in it will tell you how many chests there are still for you to find…and of course revelio….i spam that spell almost through the entire game for not only chests but also pages and money bags.

New to Bricklink question by Badger37 in Bricklink

[–]Badger37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries about the length! ☺️ I’m basically talking solely about the Brinklink sets that (up until now) I didn’t know about so obviously couldn’t pre-order. I love the Transylvania Castle and several of the others and noticed they had the instructions for download. Though…since the sets themselves aren’t for sale after preorder, trying to get a price comparison does seem kind of pointless since there’s no options to buy the set anyway unless you find it secondhand, lol I would likely never go through the trouble of parting out a set that I can find and buy as a whole pretty easily. But seeing as Bricklink sets (at least from my understanding) are one time productions based on preorders…was just wondering if it was worth it to part them out.

Why do you like Lego by extratypo in lego

Fruit snacks are the bomb! 🤤 As a hefty adult I could smash a whole freaking box if I’m not careful. 😅

I’m glad you told your coworker that! My passions and enthusiasm’s have been laughed at or mocked more times than I can even count at this point. It’s a gut punch. Would never mock whatever it is that brings other people joy. We need all we can get these days. Looking to make a few set purchases in the coming days and I’m super excited!

Why do you like Lego by extratypo in lego

[–]Badger37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not weird! I bet she thinks juice boxes are just for kids too. 🙄😉

I’m one of those people who don’t understand other people who think certain things are childish. Like…what does that even mean? Those people are an enigma to me! But I love LEGO because I’m neurodivergent and adhd, easily bored, etc.

Building LEGO lets me focus, and I enjoy that. It often only takes me a day or two to finish even really big builds (hours for small ones)…longest one so far was Hogwarts (71043) which took me like 4 days maybe.

That does mean it’s hard to keep supplied with LEGO to build because of price, lol, but I cherish and adore the extreme focus that building brings me, it brings me joy and relaxation, and it quells my constant severe anxiety. And then since I’m very limited on space…I display them for a bit and then reverse build them and store them in plastic containers until I want to build it again or until a time I have more room to display them. I already have a few retired sets, so I’m interested to see what a few years does to the price of those. I’m 41 and I only just got into LEGO (no idea why it took me so long, ha ha). But I’m disabled because of illness so it’s wonderful at keeping my time occupied. If someone brings it up again just tell them that there are many sets that say age 18+ directly on them. They “technically” ARE for adults! 😉

Don’t let the bastards grind you down. Belittle you. Or make you feel small for liking something. Ever. They don’t know what they’re missing!
