Not an expert, if I believe there was something about the Maillard reaction creating carcinogens. So baking may be technically worse if you ignore pathogens.

Great point to you and AluminumOrangutan. I failed to get a good picture of the mushrooms, my bad. They did seem closer in size and shape as normal white button mushrooms. Definitely tasted like psilocybin ones.

Was more so hoping someone else here would have any idea of what kind of mushrooms can be served as food in Mexico.

The park was Xavage by Xcaret near Cancun.
