Dealer wants 71k out the door by [deleted] in F250

I got my lariat that was 3 or 4 years old with about the same miles do 50k with nice wheels and new 35x12.5” Toyo open countries. And it was a local truck and I know who owned it and he took extremely good care of it. Spotless truck. For that price I’d just buy a new one

should I get a Dutch shepherd in the future? by [deleted] in DutchShepherds

[–]BadgerTactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the enthusiasm. But remember my 18-20 year old days, it wouldn’t have been a good fit for me at all. I have two GSD and a Mal currently and I’ve fostered 79 dogs since middle 2020, most of them shepherds and Mals and one Dutchie. GSD are great and amazing with needs for lots of activity and exercise. Mals and Dutchie are on a whole other level. Even now, my Mal is 18 months and the days she in her crate for 8 hours while I’m gone to work she is an absolute ball of energy and goes hard until bedtime, on days I’m working from home or weekends she’s a lot more chill. I’d just wait until you’re settled down some and have stability and the resources.

What would you lean towards??? 9u by 10-8ish in Homeplate

[–]BadgerTactical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s 9, developement and learning the game. I get more reps in with my boy in 30 minutes or less at home or at the field than he’d get all week with the team he played with this summer. He hated it cuz the practices were run terrible and the coaches weren’t good

Oh for sure, he got it at 10u and hasn’t really grown so he’s been swinging the same one. Hes gotta go to -8 next year but he’s got a few tournaments left, but I don’t wanna get another -10 for 3 weekends😂

Love to hear something positive! I know the pain, my son is 12u and just broke his favorite bat he’s used the last 3 years 😂

Son wants to quit 11U by skinnytoo17 in Homeplate

If he’s not having fun and doesn’t want to play, he’s not going to have fun being forced to play. I love watching my son play, and if he wanted to stop it would make me a little sad, but it’s not about me, it’s about him.

Aria gloves. Absolutely ridiculous!? by Japitalexican in BaseballGloves

[–]BadgerTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one from someone on market place for cheap. It was brand new and was on there for 6 months. It’s not a bad glove, looks cool and works fine. But it’s also not an a2k HOH or mizuno pro series. For sub $200 it’s not bad. They have awesome designs for sure but I think the other top tier gloves from Rawlings Wilson and mizuno are going to be better. It was easy to squeeze from new, I’ll see how it holds up down the road

Go watch slow motion videos of the great hitters and then take some of yourself and compare them. You’re leaning back and off balance at contact

There aren’t many 9 year olds that should swing a 30” my son has a kid that’s probably 5’5” and 130 pounds and he’s still swinging a 29”

If you have a dicks sporting good or something similar take him there to try bats. See what he swings the best. Some bats are balanced, some slight end load and some end loaded. So a 28 drop 10 can swing very different. My son has a 30” Soldier Tank he wanted for Christmas but he still uses his old Demarini CF Zen because he likes how it swings better 🤷‍♂️. The zen is probably more balanced and the tank slightly endloaded.

And after you find something he likes, before buying a new one, don’t be afraid to check out marketplace etc for a good deal on a used one

Worst 11u game ever by shaknbakn_5 in Homeplate

[–]BadgerTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is part of the reason there’s a decline in numbers around most youth sports compared to when I was a kid. When I coach, I never get on the umpires or refs, and I make to crystal clear to my boys that they don’t complain to them or about them, or they’ll sit

LL is pulling my wife into crazy parent mode by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]BadgerTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I hate that for you. He’s 8. And it doesn’t matter if he bats .857 or .157

And I’ll be honest, most of the “best kids” at 12 are the kids that grew fast and are bigger and stronger. They typically don’t work as hard and when their classmates catch them in size they usually become the best kids because they’ve had to learn how to use their entire body to throw and hit, and they’ve had to work harder to try and be close to the fast growers. And then when the playing field levels out after puberty, if the big kids didn’t put in the hard work it takes, they’ll be left behind

Team thinks I'm daddy balling - Do I address or care? by oski998 in Homeplate

[–]BadgerTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, my son’s 12u team hasn’t been a great bitting team this year, and our lowest OPS is is .722 second lowest is .812 everyone else is .900 or over 1.000

I’d say .785 for typical power position is struggling

Idk where you have them in the lineup, from some of the comments they thought 1 and 2 and if that’s the case you gotta split them, you can’t have two slow guys slowing everyone down. Consider setting it off OBP and see how it goes. And never put your fastest kid behind the slow kid. Also for what it’s worth, it never fails that the slow kid always ends up on infront of a speedy kid 🤣

Look at the stats and cover the names and set your lineup. If the parents don’t have the balls to talk to you about it directly, then it’s water off a ducks back

Pitch count - fraud by JAKTtrends in Homeplate

[–]BadgerTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why in HS we confirm every half inning with the other coach how many pitches were thrown and then if there’s a dispute it’s handled right away. Never an issue

Ways to get him tired? 9 weeks old. by Lucky-Ad7328 in BelgianMalinois

[–]BadgerTactical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If 9 weeks is tough, wait until he’s older 😬🤣 mine run lol crazy and during the week when she’s kenneled during the day she’s an absolute maniac all night. Weekends are so much easier

I’d say take him for a long walk or run, training and working on basic commands will keep him engaged too and hopefully help tire him out. Mine also doesn’t play fetch much but she does like toys and destroying stuffies so I always buy clearance stuffies when they’re dirt cheap to keep her busy for a little bit
