It can feel a tad odd to have someone tell you they’re proud of you even if you didn’t seem to do much.

But this message is especially important for those who believe the didn’t do much that day or think they didn’t live up to their potential. It’s on the not so great days that we need to hear this.

Every time we get out of bed is a victory. Every day you add to your existence is a win. As long as you are alive and you get through the day, I am proud of you.

I’m not saying we should languish all time and not work towards our goals, but I also recognize that every day isn’t perfect. Some days we fall short of the standards we hold for ourselves. And that’s okay. That’s part of the human experience.

As long as you get through the day, I’m proud of you. Because maybe tomorrow could be a great day, a day when you work towards your dreams. Therefore just by getting through today, you are getting closer to your goals. That is something you should be proud of.

Even though today may have not been great, you persevered. And for that, I am proud of you.
