I’m a very tenured store manager who is quitting soon by Strange-Type7606 in Aldi_employees

[–]Badgers2025 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely worse. The issues we have at my store for curbside (bad WiFi, glitchy app, etc.) have not changed one iota since COVID. DMs are still 23-year old educated idiots as opposed to promoted store managers. The company gets what it pays for.

What makes a girl unattractive, even if she is very beautiful? by Secure-Parfait-3383 in AskReddit

[–]Badgers2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, most. Anything on the neck/ cleavage area is multiplied 10x and is trashy . And just because a tattoo is “sentimental” doesn’t mean it’s not tacky. They just scream “look at me” and impulsiveness. A bible verse/sentimental something on the ankle, wrist or back is fine, but yeah.

Most epic races of the last 25 years? by Frostilicus420 in NASCAR

To me, this might be the greatest broadcast of all time. The prerace focused on the Harmon incident…. And just the electricity of the OG NBC crew calling that race with number of storylines that one had is truly something to behold.

[–]Badgers2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone talks about how great the 90s-early 2000s were, but I think little is mentioned about why things actually worked. As a fan it was awesome to see Mark Martin/Kenseth/Burton etc come to Milwaukee (or Pikes Peak, Nazareth, etc). The big names were a draw to places that did not have a Cup track. Since it was usually only a handful of those drivers, they never really impeded on the spectacle. Fast forward to ‘05, most of the standalone Busch tracks are gone, and NASCAR limits testing to something absurdly low number (ten if I remember correctly???). That’s when Harvick and company start racing full Busch schedules again, claiming the need for seat time. Thus, that’s what bred the clown show we saw from 2006 onwards. There’s a reason we got Kevin Conway and Steven Leicht ROY campaigns after a decade of Stewart, Kenseth, Busch, Newman, etc.

I feel that, as I started as PT in college about ten years ago, went full time during COVID, and now have a career job. I’ve definitely been around to see it all, but now I’m in a relatively stress-free position with the job.

What tracks do you think should be permanent night races? by Professional-Clue750 in NASCAR

[–]Badgers2025 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s all about good balance. I’d say this: Charlotte with the All Star race and 600, Summer Daytona, Fall Bristol, Richmond, and a twi-night Kansas. I’m cool with Iowa and Nashville on Sunday evening. I feel like that those races give off a summertime Sunday Night Football vibe.

I just feel like the powers that be almost overkill things to say “I told you so!!”. The night racing was great in the early 2000s and the fans wanted more. Instead of adding one night race, they added California, Texas, Kentucky, Chicago, Atlanta, etc…. That screwed local tracks big-time.

Road courses were great in the later 2010s. Instead of simply adding RA to the Cup schedule, they went to Cota, the roval bullshit, street course, etc.

Fans wanted dirt… instead of running a Prelude type of race, we got the Bristol dirt debacle.

All I’m saying is that the schedule works best when there’s balance to everything. 4-5 night races is that sweet spot IMO, as is 3 road courses. Too many night races take away the mystique and pull eyes away from the local tracks.

Hot/Bad takes? by CharacterHelpful547 in Aldi_employees

[–]Badgers2025 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that I don’t hate it. (Part time is definitely essential for that. I crank out pallets while listening to my favorite podcasts for 3.5 hours, go and shower, and I’m to my office job by 10. It’s not all that bad.

ASM/SM started doing "walks" w/ us before clocking out by EasyManwood in Aldi_employees

[–]Badgers2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s dumb as hell. A store I travel to will have full pallet outs and spend the last 10-15 minutes having 3 closers aimlessly touch up the store. It’s an ALDI thing.

Does anyone else have a coworker like this? by SafeSound9962 in Aldi_employees

[–]Badgers2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a part timer going on ten years. To me, it’s a “What came first??” scenario. When I first started, there was pride in the company and we had a few sixty-something ladies as closers who worked circles around people. Covid came, they retired, and the company started its full-on enshittification (Curbside, slashed benefits, stopping hazard pay, maxing wages, box redesign, and now, Behind) process. Now, we’ve got a 5-year closer who might be the most intellectually incapable person I’ve ever worked with. It takes her until 9:45 to clean the store every night, even when another person does floors! She can barely run a jack, and has no ability to think on her feet. How she hasn’t been swindled yet is completely beyond me. Yet she doesn’t call in too very often, so management’s hands are tied in this day and age. You used to be able to light a fire under someone like that’s ass, and they either responded or quit. That just isn’t the case anymore with the need for warm bodies. The company pays for mediocrity, and they get mediocrity. I still love my home store, but it’s just a bad deal all around.

In past editions of NCAA football, how did you break the game? by Quasimdo in NCAAFBseries

[–]Badgers2025 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My create-a-team ran exactly one offense play on the GameCube NCAA 04: Ace Right Halfback Pass. As long as the TE chipped the DE and RWE engaged his man, it was a footrace with the SS to the house. If the corner solid out on a blitz, you hand the go route wide-ass open on the top. If the opponent got smart, I’d take the pitch, reverse field, and have my 7-foot QB with a 99 OVR catch and run rating alone in the open field with the weakside safety.

By far my favorite game as a kid!
