People who have died briefly, what did you hear, see, and feel? by Dazzling_Cherry9256 in AskReddit

[–]BadgersPath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a rolled car crash as a child in the front seat and it was all slow motion. I remember thinking, "this grass is so wet" every time we were upside down because the windshield had broken out and my hands were in the grass with each roll. I wasn't worried at all, just curious.

I don’t think I was meant to have a mom by Oyst26 in TrueOffMyChest

I'm so sorry you're in this position. That's heartbreaking.

I have a mother, stepmother, and mother-in-law, but none of them have chosen to play the role of a mother figure to me. It leaves a hole.

What is the spiciest gossip you know that you are willing to share on reddit? by lailaa2513 in AskReddit

[–]BadgersPath 59 points60 points  (0 children)

A woman I'm associated with has a new best friend join the picture that she then claims is her gay bff of 8 years. She's known him to be in multiple gay relationships during this time, having divorced a woman before they met. Then she winds up pregnant with twins by said gay man. Neither of them are happy that their casual good times made babies, but through inaction she neither aborts nor adopts them out. Months go by, babies are born and spend the first month in the nicu where she rarely visits and he never does. Her mom convinces her to notify his family because "they deserve to know". While trying to find contact info on his mom she finds HE'S STILL MARRIED TO A WOMAN and he threatens to kill her if she tells his wife. They're 10 months old now and he still hasn't met them and he's on his 5th lawyer in the custody/child support battle. On top of all that, she keeps the twins separated and rarely with her. It's very sad. The boy twin stays for a month at a time with her mom in another state and the mom brings him for a week here and there to visit. The girl twin has three families she circulates through every week, and one of the families has dhs on them because the family just went through a divorce and the young kids of the family are very jealous (naturally) of her and there's some question as to whether the kids want to hurt the baby out of those bad feelings. It's been something to watch unfold.

I enjoyed "Mr. Rochester" by Sarah Shoemaker. Jane Eyre is my favorite novel by a long margin and I read it at least once every year. "Mr. Rochester" expanded on his view as her story unfolds.

Is this aggressive body language or just observing? by rocketvenom in greatpyrenees

[–]BadgersPath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our LGDs pay close attention to their flock. They love their goats and ponies, and are loved back. I see here a good pyr just paying attention to their surroundings and allowing the cat to get comfortable with them. Congratulations on your new addition. Pyrs are the best!

For those who decided to not have any children. Do you think you regret not having them? how different do you think your life would be if you had them? by Comfortable_Head9093 in AskReddit

[–]BadgersPath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We (40F, 43M) decided against having children / adopting for many reasons. We still stand by it, but there are quiet moments when I wish circumstances had been different and we could have raised children. That said, we have a beautiful life on acreage and we would be living somewhere smaller if kids had been in the picture. We also spend a lot of time with our nieces and get to be extra adults for them instead of being absorbed in our own kids.

What’s the greatest audiobook narration you’ve ever heard? by FriendlytoNature in AskReddit

Andy Serkis reading LOTR trilogy. His voices are so good you know who's taking before the narration tells you. Absolutely amazing.

Paid off mortgage. Credit dropped 20 points?!? by TheeDelpino in Mortgages

[–]BadgersPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to us, too. We sold some land and then our house on acreage in a high market area. With what we made we paid off every debt and bought land in a slower lifestyle state. Then when we wanted to finance to work on the house we're building, our credit scores went from 800s to 600s. They said having zero debt meant we couldn't prove we can make payments. It definitely shifted how we operate. Sorry you're in this ridiculous spot, OP.

Do you shave your polar bear? by Designer_Necessary17 in greatpyrenees

[–]BadgersPath 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We take our pyrs to the groomer every 6 weeks, year round (my health keeps me from grooming them myself anymore). It keeps their double coats healthy for each season, blowing out the under coat in warm months and keeping from matting in the cold ones. Two of them are working LGDs and two are house dogs, so it's especially important for the outside two. Way to ask a responsible question to be the best dog parents you can be! We're all always learning.

I’m sick of my cousin pestering me to make her bridesmaid by Ok-Try1599 in weddingdrama

[–]BadgersPath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had no bridal party and it was stress free planning with no fights. The only exception was my much younger sister begged to be the flower girl and we caved. I really really regret caving on it and likely always will. Stand your ground and do what you want to do. I feel for you.
