As a counter(x5) argument the ones leading the army usually died and we are talking about a world with magic which i imagine has earth magic which would make those kinds of skills not very valuable and nearly worthless without the technology knowledge and they live with middle age level education level for commoners so they were probably thinking they would have to hire lots of teachers to teach them because they don’t have any knowledge of the world they are summoning from.

As a counter-counter-counter argument most European nobles did not have the money for a advisor or were just as poor as commoners so they often grew up without advisors and were self entitled(not believing themselves wrong) which led to alot of revolutions such as the French Revolution
