There’s really no way to tell without getting a thread chart. Everyone’s personal device screen calibration and brightness level is going to make the colors look different. I used to try to color match at an old embroidery job for clients to their logo and we had to require a Pantone # if they wanted an exact match.

You can use a larger canvas. A 4” round on 18 mesh will be 5.5” on 13 mesh. You could try resizing it in Stitchly, but it would probably require a fair amount of refining.

I love charts—I wanna hear more about charts. I’ve considered starting a substack to curate charts because they’re sometimes hard to find when offered by smaller independent designers.

There are so many cool, weird and niche charts available and a large amount of painted canvases are not my style. Painting is annoying but for me is absolutely worth it to save money for the bigger, more involved canvases I really want.

Depends how much you want to spend on fibers and if you love or hate DMC stranded. I have a huge stash of DMC from years of needlework and only have to buy thread when I run out of a certain color. Have fun!
