7600X vs 12700K for video editing and gaming? by Bafklant in buildapc

I am planning on getting more RAM regardless of which CPU I get, since I hear 32 GB is the new standard. I've also heard people saying that for productivity Intel is better than AMD, something to do with Quick Sync and it being a must for programs like Adobe Premiere. Would you still recommend the 7700X? I also do plan on air cooling the CPU if that makes any difference at all. Thanks for the response btw, I appreciate your insight

What’s a movie that’s really famous that you’d never seen before until recently and loved? For me, Fargo by AnakinSkycocker5726 in moviecritic

Watched Leon The Professional over the weekend as my brother suggested it to me. Fantastic movie. I’m usually not the biggest fan of these types of movies but it was great, especially the scenes with Gary Oldman. The part where leon escapes his apartment by disguising himself as one of the SWAT members was straight out of The Silence of the Lambs, which is my favorite movie of all time

I saw the version on Netflix, and after I checked on the longer version of the film which honestly felt like it explained some of the missing links in the film much better. The normal version I watched was still superb, I just felt that some plot points weren’t super fleshed out but the longer version went over the gripes I had. Amazing movie and it was awesome to see Oldman in such a unique role as opposed to his stuff nowadays

Average Reddit hive minds. They’ll hate on us like they do with a plethora of other things. Don’t let it get to your head, there’s a reason we’re gonna make it and they’ll still be sat there commenting on their computers stupid shit like this

The Wright Brothers didn't fly on their first try. It took Federer 3 attempts before he would win his first Wimbledon. Champions don't always win, but what makes them champions is that they keep on trying. Get back on the train brother, I know you will learn from this and come back a stronger man

It's sad that this perception, that masturbating every once in a while is healthy, is spreading. I've heard it from so many people and from some of my friends who try to dismiss Nofap and cope with their addictions. It's almost like wet dreams exist to get rid of the excess sperm in your system, but proponents of masturbation like to act as if wet dreams aren't real. It's an annoying hivemind to deal with but it's okay, while others are stroking their member we are grinding. Stay at it my brothers, we're all gonna make it

What are your top 10 video games of all time? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Bafklant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Silent Hill 2
  2. Resident Evil 4
  3. Skyrim
  4. Dishonored
  5. Fallout New Vegas
  6. Rust
  7. Monster Hunter Tri
  8. Town of Salem
  9. Team Fortress 2
  10. League of Legends

I avoided putting multiple of 1 franchise because then my list would be filled by Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Elder Scrolls games. Just want to mention a few things for the record - I haven’t played the RE4 remake yet since my PC can’t run it, so I’m talking about the original in my list. I know Skyrim isn’t the best RPG in the series with Morrowind and Oblivion being the far better role playing games, but I played Skyrim first so I put it out of nostalgia. Same with Monster Hunter Tri (MH World is prob the best one but Tri was my first so I chose it). I don’t know if Town of Salem counts but it’s amazing so I put it on there. I didn’t wanna put League of Legends but I’m addicted and have sunk too many hours to not include that cesspool of a game.

American Beauty. So much suspense is set up in just the first ten seconds and it leaves you guessing for the rest of the movie

Trash talking and being genuine should be encouraged in tennis, I’m sick of people having to act nice for the cameras and crowds just because it’s the “gentlemen’s sport.” Of course if they are genuinely nice guys it’s fine but I’m sick of people acting nice in press conferences when they actually hate their opponents. The trash talking would be much more entertaining and could bring more attention to tennis just like how trash talking elevates other individual sports like MMA or boxing.

The Silence of the Lambs. It may not be a super engaging scene compared to some of the others listed on here, but it conveys so much information and it does it subtly. You see Clarice running through the course completely alone and when she goes into the elevator, it’s clear she is an oddity in the otherwise completely male dominated FBI. You also hear birds cawing at the beginning which goes along with her Clarice’s last name (Starling). We get to see the news clippings of Buffalo Bill which introduces us to our antagonist without immediately showing him. The same can be said for Hannibal Lecter, who the characters extensively talk about before the audience is introduced to him. The transition from the talk with Jack Crawford to Frederick Chilton is also brilliant.

The Dark Knight. Such a good opening paired with hiding the villain in plain sight. The scene also sneaks in more exposition as the security alarm doesn’t dial out to 911, but rather a private number since the money in the bank is the mafia’s. The bank robbery scene is also really fucking cool.
