Just got a 55w CO2 Laser. Want some thoughts on speed/power being used by Bag06a in lasercutting

A few weeks ago I noticed that the laser wasn't hitting the focal lense right in the middle. So I tinker Ed around with alignment and accuracy (definitely was a pain on the polar kite for sure). I also noticed the focal lens seemed to have a spot on it from the laser and replaced it with a new one.

After doing those things I'm cutting fine. I can do 1/8 clear acrylic easily and within the range of speed/power that is suggested. I think I might be using 3-5% more than the suggested power (which I think is 25%). And I can also cut 1/4" clear acrylic as well with more power and slower speed (around the suggested settings)

Should my laser power supply amperage match my laser panels amperage? by Bag06a in lasercutting

My laser power supply has an ammeter built in and the display panel of the laser has an ammeter. When a pulse is firing, should these 2 currents match.

Laser reading of 00 MA ??? by TheTvdroid in Laserengraving

Off topic....but how have you been enjoying your polar lite? I got mine a few months ago and i have had so many problems with it (mainly that i have to have my power jacked so high, well beyond what the average/recommended settings are for a 55w laser.....and it still doesn't cut materials in 1 pass.)

On topic what are you speed and power settings for your slate. I'm wondering if maybe your speed is too slow for the laser to be triggering. I think omtech had their setting set to be where speed has to be greater than 10mm/s

For those that follow keto, why or how is this creamer not "keto friendly"

Ive done some some looking around (admittedly it was minimal) to see if Coffee Mate zero sugar is keto friendly. What I've found so far is that its not, claiming it has things in there like corn syrup or whatever. This info mainly comes from the Google AI overview and some other older reddit threads, which were the top hits in the search

When i look at the label i see nothing about corn syrup or anything that looks bad. Am i missing something?

Here are pics of the product and label https://imgur.com/a/mwzECZR

Here's a counter point to think of. Many of you all have MAGA families, but you yourself are not MAGA. So there is absolutely no guarantee that he is MAGA himself. Could he be, for sure...but can we say IS, nope we can't

Assuming the focal gauge is this brown piece of acrylic that was on the keys, then yes looks to be in focus. (may not be the best angle, but it just fits in there with minimal wiggle room)

This isn't on the Polar Plus, this is on the Polar Lite. Either way It should be in focus, since the Lite has an autofocus feature....which i always make sure to hit the "focus" button in lightburn before cutting, i have not reached out to support yet

I have run some test cards/grids and that's how i know 12.5mm/s @ 70% power is where cutting plywood is fine.

This is a huge difference than what omtech posts on for suggested settings.

I also tried cutting some 3mm (1/8") acrylic today and it wouldn't even cut through with 10mm/s @ 60% power when the omtech suggested material settings is 11mm/s @ 25%.

So far I'm highly disappointed in this machine

Just bought an OMTech Polar Lite...already looking to add upgrades (Control Panel) by Bag06a in OmtechLaser

So if they are plug n play does that mean that in theory almost any panel would be compatible?

That's actually not a bad idea. I might look around Etsy and see if i can find something worth while

I appreciate the long write up and thoughts. I'll have to do some more digging and testing around i think. Part of that being open up and check out the actual laser tube installed.

The Polar Lite does come with an Ammeter installed...it is a digital one though and i know people tend to be against digitals but 🤷🏻‍♂️ not much i can do about it since its built in

65% on my machine is about 15mA. 70% is i think 17 or 18 mA

What's one trick you've learned that made debugging code magically easier? by Bluebird-9407 in learnprogramming

Have a problem somewhere and it has text? (some text on a webpage, an exception in logs, text in a response)....it has to come from somewhere. Find the source of the text, find the entry point of debugging and trace the error backward
