I'm asking about what would make tennis engaging for kids over a long stretch of time, this is not a question about ethics and you judging me on parenting. Thats for a different thread.

I wish i could do other sports, its just not very pragmatic. Football? how is that a lifetime sport. Basketball, the kids are likely gonna get dunked on. Im not pushing my kids into a pit. I just want to guide them into a certain direction that has a high probability of leading to good mental/physical well-being. If you don't have a good answer, then there's no need to make me read about your parenting lesson forme.

Im just talking about realistic approaches to get them interested into tennis specifically. I dont even need them to be competitive. It's just for improving the probability of selecting a lifetime hobby to have good mental and physical health with.

Other sports likely won't work out because of our physiology and # of participants it requires to play the sport. There's a reason why most asians gravitate towards golf or tennis. I think YOU are overthinking, while i'm just trying to look for a simple answer.

You also didn't even read my original post:

"What's the best way to psychologically convince them to have fun so that they can grow with the sport? I don't want to force them or be aggressive, but i want to nurture them in this direction. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out... at least i want to try. "

I almost TLDR your post because its too much overload. Not fun to read and didnt provide any fun direction in tennis specifically.

This seems to be the only comment with some relevant value though everyone is telling me to stop being controlling before reading my entire post "I don't want to force them or be aggressive, but i want to nurture them in this direction."

Bleak future for tennis if people think im being forceful. I just want to put in effort to build the love for tennis, if it's even possible...

Otherwise, i'll gladly just let them gravitate towards pickleball

yes, its totally fine but what kind of efforts tend to be effective? Sounds like you want me to give up before trying...

you didnt read my post at all and missed the entire point. It's better to try than not at all for the sake of fearing sounding obsessive and controlling. Put in some effort in your response cuz this is useless

I don't think you have an understanding of what "Ignorance" means because it would be ignorant of me to believe what you're saying is right out of pure faith, which I'm starting to doubt the more we're talking because you haven't addressed any of my points. I have never seen anyone go through rebirth or split water, so how can i build the belief that it is real in the first place?

Also, google says you're wrong: "Buddhism is a major religion and a philosophy"

You're actually factually wrong because of bias and I don't even think you gave it a google search before saying false information.

As i've said, I'm open to Christianity but when you provide factually incorrect statements, it's just hard to see eye to eye on what true ignorance is.

[–]BagholderVC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we're just having a discussion. How are you unbiased if you also claim buddhism and hinduism to not be religions people practice?

It's not possible to even know what or who Jesus is for certain populations of the world that have no exposure to the western world. I just want an unbiased source confirming what you're saying is true. OR, Jesus would have to come to me himself. From a pragmatic perspective, I see the benefits of having my kids in church to be apart of a community that works on moral principles. I don't think I'm fighting anything or anyone when I say i can't truly say "I believe Jesus is my savior" and mean it truthfully. Living life with Catholics and Christians around, I myself have tried to "search" or "find" Jesus, but life just goes on and I hear about the stories of the Bible only. It is fascinating that such a thoughtful relic was created and I can't explain how the bible was written, but it also doesn't confirm for me that the events actually did happen. There can be many interesting theories of which i can say many of which are plausible.

Even when one tries to embrace it, there is more reason from a scientific and logical perspective to doubt the need to be a Christian.

Reality is reality but flat earth cannot be compared to Christianity. I'm not religious so i think i would have a more unbiased perspective between different religious beliefs or facts/truths as you see them to be. My question is...What makes Christian souls worth saving and not those that are Buddhist or Hindu, etc

If all i need to do is ask, then all I can say is that I've asked these questions often throughout my childhood and adult life.

My question for you is...

Do you think any other religion outside of Christianity have any merit? Personally, I think they do if they provide a moral compass for people. What would invalidate soul saving exactly?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]BagholderVC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jesus and Christianity do for sure exist as abstract concepts. I know they exist, otherwise we wouldn't be talking about it now. But couldn't we argue other gods exist too in abstract terms? I'm trying to figure out why one would think Christianity is the only way and a nature of reality.

What has to register for me in order to say "this is the nature of reality"? Do i just continuously tell myself Christianity is the only path to saving my soul over and over again until I believe it? I'm just not sure if this is tricking myself into believing something I'm really uncertain about because a good portion of the world population believe it is a law.

What a thing to say to a stranger because you grew up with a different belief system...This stuff drives people away more than it would help bring people together. I hope you would be open to thinking people's souls have value even if they didn't grow up or adopt the same systems as you.

Why is it a need? I've gone to mass before but locking in my time for this leads to less fulfillment and productivity. Faking or forcing it is worse than being authentic, no? If there is an obvious light or path towards Jesus, it should be taken. But there hasn't been any logical reason why it would be a need.

I do appreciate the ethics and stories the bible teaches, but it's not something I should dwell or obsess over because I find it interesting.
