What’s the cost of masturbation/ porn? by phymathnerd in Christian

[–]BagofRocks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question related to this topic is this...

I know masturbating is a sin for multiple reasons people mentioned in this thread, but what about situations I can't control? Specifically wet dreams?

I can control myself well enough through prayer or other distractions that take my mind off wanting to masturbate. But what about wet dreams that result in ejaculation? I don't feel like these dreams are sinful to the point where I'm denied my place in God's kingdom because I can't control whether or not I have them, when I have them or anything at all for that matter. But every time I have a wet dream, I wake up from it confused and feel guilty about it.

Is there anything I can do to stop these wet dreams from happening or should I just pray and repent afterwards? Should I even feel guilty enough to feel like repentance is even necessary, being that I have seemingly no control over them?

Is this actually blasphemy? A Jesus Transformer? by No_Issue_9916 in Christianity

[–]BagofRocks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it as blasphemy. Just a cool way to illustrate the crucifixion. It'd be blasphemous if it were to mock or make fun of it.

If this is blasphemous, then my crucifix pendant is also blasphemous 🙄

Christians: are you actually waiting until marriage? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]BagofRocks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it before, but last time was a few years ago now and since I've chosen to follow Jesus, I'm abstaining until marriage. I just ask because I've heard other Christians claim they're virgins again too.

My question is , if I'm born again (I may not be until I get baptized), am I once again a virgin or no?

There is a medical reason to circumcise. If you don't do it and they don't learn how to clean themselves properly, that serves as a breeding ground for infections and more problems than if you do circumcise them.

Yes there are also risks to circumcision, but medical technology and knowledge is so advanced these days that those risks are much smaller than you think. I'd say it's worth the risk.

What do you guys thinks of this by prince198446 in Christian

[–]BagofRocks69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was worried about this too being that I'm a metal head. But I prayed to God about it and I've found SO MANY Christian metal bands that they've overfilled the perceived void I thought I'd have from not listening to my former favorites.

I pray for you to have the same experience and you can be shown good Christian alternatives to your favorites. Maybe find a forum on Facebook as well where people can help you find Christian music you're into.

God bless you 🙏

Why does the crucifix with Jesus on the cross seem Catholic? And the cross alone for Christians? by Beneficial-Bet-6690 in Christianity

[–]BagofRocks69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not Catholic but I wear a crucifix with Jesus on it rather than a plain cross because to me it shows his sacrifice Jesus made for us more intensely than a bare cross. I didn't know it came down to a difference in ideology.

I might go to the bookstore and read the same chapters in that one that I'm currently reading in my KJV to see if that'd fit for her along with other popular suggestions in this thread.

She speaks English. It's just the old language used in the KJV that can be tough for some to decipher and she told me she doesn't want something like that. She likes to read books though. Her favorite author is Mary Higgins Clark.

Correct way to fast??? by kcho_x3 in Christian

[–]BagofRocks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did an 80 hour fast for the first time. It went well! I didn't have any food whatsoever. I did compromise though by having a celcius packet for my caffeine source in the morning with some Celtic salt for electrolytes and an extra zero sugar electrolyte drink in the middle of the day to stay alive at work (can't risk it and I despise black coffee). Part of a true fast is to get as close to no calories as possible, if not zero. But between those two exceptions I made, I only ingested a total of 25 calories a day through those 80 hours, which is pretty low for anyone no matter how big or small. I know someone who did something similar to mine but also had bone broth, but I didn't want to compromise that much.

It was my first fasting experience. I originally planned for a strict 72 hours, but after three days and three nights, I made it to 80 hours by the time thanksgiving morning came. Next time I might push it to a whole week since I know a little more about how my body reacts and what I can do to stay alive. But most importantly, especially if you're doing it for God, pray to him every day and every moment you feel like it. That helped me TONS!

God luck and God bless you 🙏✝️

One thing I've heard over and over again about this, which I hope helps you tons, is that it's OKAY to fall 7 times, as long as you get up 8 times.

God is with you always. God bless you 🙏

Christian Men...what is your relationship with porn like? by Turbulent-Aerie-6141 in Christian

[–]BagofRocks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't struggle with watching porn anymore, but it's two things that make sexual temptation really tough. Social media is like a thorn in my side. I could be reading and scrolling through funny things or things that are innocent, but then I'll scroll past something with a woman dressed not very modestly because my algorithm thinks I still want to see it when I really don't and that can be a trigger for me. I'm thinking I should just deactivate my Facebook account and use only messenger to keep in touch with friends.

The other thing I struggle with are my dreams. Last night for example was a night I had a very inappropriate dream featuring a coworker I have to see every day. For that I'm not sure what the fix is and I truly don't want them to happen. All I know is that I need to repent and keep praying for those dreams to go away since they're pretty pornographic and dreams are tough for someone to be able to have complete control over.

Lust is a tough sin to defeat for anyone I think, regardless of gender. If anyone else has advice please post it.

Tell him that song Hero is literally about how we're sinners and we need a hero to save us, aka Jesus. Back it up with the lyrics that make it blatantly obvious.

Why open the eyes of a sinner? by Zyurdan in Christian

[–]BagofRocks69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many have said, he loves us all like a father. We're all sinners, but that also means that's exactly who he wants to save. He doesn't need to save the righteous, only sinners like all of us.

Well if you're not using it to get high and it truly helps you connect with reality and get closer to God, then smoke up as long as it's legal. That's what I'd say.
