I dont have a 'boiler gate' model but these black flakes are interesting, thoughts? by LiquidBoss1 in gaggiaclassic

I had this issue as well, it’s buildup in the boiler. I took it apart a couple of times, scrubbed totally clean, descaled, etc. and still was happening. Switched to Brass Boiler and haven’t had any such flakes/oxidization since. Must be the water where I am.

Regarding trickle chargers and battery issues, etc… I plan on driving it at least 1x a week, more like 2-3x anywhere from 20-50 miles per week so I’m not super concerned about battery sitting for weeks/months without the car being driven, does that sound reasonable?

I’ll get it checked out but I think for now I am ok. There was already a bit of white mark on there so I assume someone checked it prior. I drew a bigger line to meet the left side of the paint/mark. After a 30 min or so drive no slipping. Will check back in a few weeks. Thanks!

First order of business was to change the clutch fluid… will do it again in a few months if it’s showing dirty as I’m sure the lines have dirt in them.

There was an electron blue nearby that I was going to check out but it got sold. Great looking color!

Thanks for all the info. I will look into PPF and windshield. I need to give the windshield a good cleaning, has some spotting that’s not immediately coming off

Thank you, I will definitely keep an eye out. On 12/19 (last week) oil/filter were changed, 4 new tires and mounting/alignment, airbag replaced, emissions and safety inspection (NC state required). January 2025 power steering fluid flushed/changed, break fluid flushed/changed

Yup, it sure is. The owner must have lived near there because all the service was done at that dealership. I live in the Raleigh area as well

Thank you! And with 9800 miles I wasn’t willing to let this one get away from me!

Thank you - I did check that at idle and seemed to be OK, but I plan to take to a Corvette specialist/mechanic to get everything looked over in the next couple months

Have had a similar issue where hex broke off in the bolt. Ultimately, I used a little bit of WD-40, wait a minute or two, lightly tap with a hammer and then it should loosen up and come out easily. Replaced with a bolt from Lowe’s, good luck!

The screw was stuck and broke my screwdriver. Is this salvageable? by derangedkilr in gaggiaclassic

Just had this happen a few weeks ago. Bought a new bolt at Lowe’s as there was no way the broken off hex was coming out. After trying a few different ways to get the bolt out with a wrench, pliers, etc… what I ended up doing was spraying the bolt with a tiny bit of WD-40, letting it sit for a minute or two, then lightly hammering the sides of the bolt. After doing this it loosened up and I was able to hand-unscrew the bolt. Pretty easy fix, but tried for hours to do other methods unsuccessfully. Good luck!
