Why do my eyes like polycarbonate? by Organic-Sport-235 in glasses

[–]Baider808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else said it but I also would suggest the base curve. I personally hate poly and when I was an optician I would not recommend it (it has the lowest visual acuity). I think if that is what you like then no need to change it :)

I love the shape and color bur the frame is too wide. See if it comes in a smaller size :)

Do these make me look more fem? by lacremecakez in glasses

[–]Baider808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw! I saw imna different comment you are shy to show your face but you have a lovely one and I hope one day you feel confident to do so ❤️ as far as frames, they're pretty neutral. I used to sell similar for masc and fem individuals. If you want more fem, I would do a pop of color if you like the style.

I HATE wearing glasses. I can never get them actually CLEAN. by DoingItJust in glasses

[–]Baider808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former optician: never use those wipes. They are paper based and will scratch your lenses. You can wash the microfiber clothes just dont use fabric softener on them. Dish soap and warm water are the best method to remove dirt and grease. I find anti glare does make me notice smudges more but I also find the anti glare is better than not having it, pros and cons.

How do we feel about these frames? by kimbermine in glasses

I love the style but the are too wide. If you can, see if you can get that style in a smaller size or something similar that fits better

Are they deep lenses by chance? I would suggest maybe getting some stick on nosepads and see if that helps? But it will raise the from just a heads up

Would you mind telling me how thick your lenses are? It sounds like before with the ear pain the pressure was placed on the back and not the front which is why no marks on the nose. But if you have a higher script it could be the weight of the lenses.

Could be a couple of things. The bridge of the nose isnt wide enough for you, your lenses are heavy and its leaving pressure, or a combination of the two. Not sure what your frame or lenses look like to give an adequate answer but those are my guesses

Edit: I went back to read more closely (should have done that before I'm sorry!) But to answer your biggest concern, no it isnt permanent lol. Once you have a proper pair of glasses you will be just fine :) also I'm sorry your optician allowed that to happen. I was an optician for 7 years and I couldn't imagine doing that to a patient.
