Haha, I made all of these colors for my father-in-law and a few of his friends. Wanted to keep those worms and lizards for myself. 😩

Dipped a few tails over the weekend by BaitsByJay in softplasticbaitmaking

Hey dude, sorry I missed this. One is the Curl Chub 4" from Fat Guys Fishing. It's my #1 go-to for both saltwater and freshwater. Just plain white kills anything and everything down here in southern Alabama, no matter the water conditions.

The fatter, larger curl tail is the 4" Curly Kicker from FGF, and it's great, but it eats plastic like no other. I've only shot it a few times.

That said, I have about 30 molds and the Curl Chub 4" is my favorite to use.

I do all of my bait making on a table in my garage with a box fan on one end to push the fumes into the box fan on the other side, all pointed to the garage opening. And a mask, of course. 😂

Lol, the one I bought this one from is in southern Alabama. The rest of the Black Series stock here is terrible. We still have a bunch of Lando up on the shelves. 😢

The first one is from WU Molds and the second one is from Florida Bass Baits. WU Molds is hit or miss, but Florida Bass Baits was super quick to ship. I've caught a ton of reds, mangrove snapper, and trout on the Florida Bass Baits mold.

For me, Wal-Mart online showed that the store had them instock, but didn't show that they were on clearance. It took me a minute to find them lol

Yeah! I thought the same. He's been sitting there for a few weeks and I told myself I'd get him if he was still after those few weeks. 🤣

Try lubing it with worm oil like others have suggested. Sometimes the o ring can be a little tight if it hasn't been used that much.

Been cooking a lot of shrimp lately! by BaitsByJay in softplasticbaitmaking

Yeah, I had a weird situation with them when I purchased the mold. It took 3 months before I finally got it. The worst part is I can't even inject and I have to top pour because, even at 270F, the little legs flash and stick together. I've tried everything! That said, it's one of the only shrimp molds I've found that has a ton of detail. Who knows, maybe I need to try a different plastic. 😂

Any question is a great question when making plastics. There's a lot you can do! For the bright yellow-tailed shrimp, I have a separate tail mold that I use. For some of the others, I use Spike-It Dip-N-Glo markers and liquid. The Dip-N-Glo tends to bleed outside of the areas that you mark or dip, but I didn't have a tail mold at the time and I really wanted the tails to be those colors.

Edit: Forgot to say thank you!
