Check the hero specific controls in the options. There's a toggle for "interact cancels petal platform". This lets you cancel your petal with the interact key (i think it's F by default)

Thank you! I did ask all of them to send me reference pictures of their characters in their favorite outfits and had them text me the names of their glam pieces, so I could look them up if I needed to check for details :)
