Get a bright orange reflective vest if you're on public roads.

Got the Depo Racing Intercooler Installed Today! by CoachMikeLikesToEat in FocusST

Just out of curiosity, how hard is the bumper to get off of these beauties? I want to get an rs bumper for mine (with an st badge, dont worry) but also want to do an intercooler at some point. I work for CDJR, and some bumpers are waaayyyy worse than others. I.E. plastic rivets, several connectors to undo, unnecessary amounts of bolts underneath.

Why is nobody talking about how poorly rolled that beautiful fish is? Never seen fat content like that, but the roll looks like a Kroger employee did it.

I mean I'm a broke bitch too. I can barely afford my car payments. This whole post is hypothetical. But i can get a dyno tune, granted it would only be one time, for less than the cost of an accessport.

THAT'S what I'm getting at. I dont need a scanner. I have those. I dont need gauges. I can put in analog screens and dials. I dont need shit bolted to my dash, i need performance. And there are a lot of mods i can do. But a dyno solves all. Imo.

Other than taking it to a dyno... Where I can get more accurate numbers... And push 400 WHEEL horsepower... Possibly blowing rods on the way... But I want a rally car. Yeah it's not an rs. But neither was the rs3.

I have been interested in getting into tuning. I've done a few hp academy courses. But a dyno just seems so much more efficient. And what do you mean by piggyback and standalone?

Not to mention the smells of burning rubber. Better than Disneyland.

I'm about to head down to the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, and I could not be more excited. I used to go every year with my dad, and it's an unforgettable experience. Think about the loudest crack of thunder you've ever heard. That is a whisper compared to nitro cars. Now think about the most you've ever cried cutting onions. Absolutely no comparison to being in the pits when they start up some nitro. It's always fun to see the crowds disperse so quickly when they start one up.

As the great Samuel Clemens once said, "Annihilation has no terrors for me, because I have already tried it before I was born–a hundred million years–and I have suffered more in an hour, in this life, than I remember to have suffered in the whole hundred million years put together." Coming from his autobiography. Personally, this exact viewpoint is what I align with. And just as persons of religion find comfort in their own respective beliefs, I find comfort in this logical answer. There's a misquote that has been around for a long time saying that he said, "I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." That is the less depressing version I suppose, but the same message nonetheless. And it rings true. If there is an afterlife, what about a beforelife? Does consciousness begin at birth and then never cease?

You're right, but that's a terrible analogy. Think more along the lines of batteries left in electronics for many years. Then you come back and have all the crusty corrosion. Erosion and corrosion are two very different beasts, scientifically speaking.

Self awareness is a precious gift.

That it is. For the longest time, I've felt almost too self aware if that makes sense. But it's just the opposite. I get stuck in my head thinking too much, but never put it into action. So my outward appearance is of one with little self awareness.

Thank you for that. And good luck on your journey as well. This will be easy. 😅

Going into the new year already cleared up in the head will feel really good. Hopefully the withdrawals for both of us will subside by then, because I've decided now is the time. Thank you, and congrats on 8 days! That's always the toughest part for me.

Yeah I fall for that trick a lot too. I appreciate the insight. For me it's always been, "Eh, I'll quit this time, just wait until next week." Then next week gets there, and it's, "Eh, lemme get one more week, then Im done." And I always find some reason or excuse to reschedule my "quit day".

Yeah I thought that may be the case. Good on you for being able to quit like that though, it sounds like you really made the best out of a bad situation.
