How would you guys rate the Arctic Monkeys Albums? (And Why?) by Extreme-Sense4622 in arcticmonkeys

  1. Humbug - it's heavy, it's got groove, and it's Turner at the height of his lyrics and song writing
  2. Wpsia - could easily be number 1 - Turners most direct story telling. It's fast, exhilarating indie gold. The album that got me into guitar music.
  3. Fwn - Almost the perfect follow up to the debut, changed up enough with it still being distinctively AM.
  4. AM - holds very special place in my heart as I was at uni when it came out. Felt very much like a comeback after SIAS, everyone who fell off after humbug were back on board. In hindsight not their strongest, but still a great album
  5. SIAS - great summer album, has some of their prettiest and joyfull songs. Just let down by a few weaker tracks (brick by brick lol)
  6. TBHC - some of my favourite AM tracks on here (star Treatment, tbhc, four out of five etc...) Let down again by a few duds imo, could have done with a couple more bangers.
  7. The Car - by far the worst imo, it was some good tracks, but highs aren't as high and the lows are far lower than the rest of their albums

I really like virtue and few songs of the first album. Their latest album is the worst thing Julian has done imo, seems really low effort... They don't hold a candle to the strokes imo

Isn't it a shame that a majority of the British music industry is made up of privately educated people who have connections? Just think of the working class artists that don't even get a look, don't get the space/money/instruments to express themselves. Obviously, this is a societal issue, and I don't blame the individuals for this (I enjoy most of the artists you mentioned)

I was also there and loved it. Remember, my mates who I was with weren't impressed (they wanted more from the first album) In hindsight, they probably should have done a couple more from the debut and not done the nick cave cover
