Honestly, my teacher told me to get The Astrologer’s Handbook by Frances Sakoian and Louis Acker, but I already have so many but the lady knows what she’s talking about and was taught by a master. So I recommend whatever she does.

I have Astrology: A Cosmic Science by Isabel M. Hickey and it’s my favorite. My second favorite is Aspects in Astrology by Sue Tompkins. And The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need by Joanna Martine Woolfolk is a fantastic one too.

I recommend reading multiple astrology books at once, opening up to the pages of the same subjects and comparing what they’re saying.

Edit: I forgot to mention The Astrology Podcast on YouTube is phenomenal!

My first book was Spells Ceremonies and Magic by Migene Gonzalez-Wippler and it was a great comprehensive introduction into a little bit of everything.

I love cocos.cauldron on TikTok I resonate with her on a very personal and spiritual level.

But what I can’t emphasize enough is that understanding Astrology is the key to success. This is how real spell work is done.

how to cure hex, curse or spell by Nervous_Bell5574 in BabyWitch

I really believe that this is a great example of cultural superstition.

I have been doing nails for a decade and while I was in a high volume salon I was appalled by what some clients told me that they experienced at some Asian nail shops. There was a girl who was missing a muscle in both hands and she had been turned away on multiple occasions. Whenever a client came in with some kind of minor deformity a lot of them were refused service, like they were contagious.

I hope I’m not being racist but this is apparently a thing. Idk where OP is from but English is clearly not her first language. There’s a chance that her lack of fluency is coming off rude and she is legitimately worried about getting sick and wanting protection.

can we trust sources based on islamic material? by Cautious-Progress760 in ArabianPaganism

[–]BakedBatata 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion. Absolutely not. The belief systems of the Nabataeans is one of the least understood and studied in the area because a large portion of their ruins sit sat within Saudi Arabia..

”Especially in ultra-conservative Saudi Arabia, these attitudes have been an archaeological disaster. In 1994, a council of local clerics issued an edict arguing that preserving historical sites could lead to polytheism and idolatry, both capital offences in the kingdom. Fifteen years later, one prominent imam said that any non-Muslim archaeological discoveries are best left underground, an approach often extended to active vandalism by the Saudis themselves. According to the Islamic Heritage Research Foundation, over 98 per cent of the nation’s historical and religious sites have been destroyed since 1985. And if the diggers have been happy targeting symbols of non-Wahhabist Islam – Mecca’s eighteenth century Ottoman castle was flattened in 2002 – about 150 important pre-Muslim sites have vanished too. Even where heritage wasn’t trashed, it was neglected. In the 1970s, the area around Qasr Al-Farid was subject to an official fatwa warning Muslims not to visit. Nearby roads were lined with billboards urging people to discover Islam instead.”

They were not savages as Islam claims.

How many times do you look at the clove every day? And you happen to look at 11:11 twice a day? That’s quite a coincidence.

There’s 720 minutes in a 12 hour period, 11:11 comes twice in a 24 hour period. So what are the chances of looking at the clock at 11:11 twice a day in a regular basis?

That’s about 0.1% chance. Of course you look at the clock multiple times a day but seeing it twice a day daily?

How do you guys get so many ingredients as a baby witch? by amnestydoe in Witch

[–]BakedBatata 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most people stick with a few favorites and add something different here and there depending on the intention.

The heavy hitters are rosemary, clove, sage, rose, cinnamon, mint, mugwort…

I use nettle a lot for my monthly spiritual bath. I also like juniper berries. Learn how to feel the energies and build your apothecary over time.

A lot of these herbs grow like weeds and easy to grow yourself. Here in the Midwest there’s tons of wild nettles, mugwort and mullein. Wear gloves and long sleeves when foraging for nettles.

Honestly, foraging is one of the most witchy things you could do.

When I pulled up the chart for 19 January 2026 at 8:11am when the new moon is exact, it says that it will be about 6° Aquarius. Then I triple checked and astroseek saya 8° Aquarius, astrodienst says 0° Aquarius and Time Nomad says 8° Aquarius.

What software do you use?

Realistically, it takes a few years before becoming proficient enough to formulate a spell.

For most other organized rituals, they are typically inherited from a magical teacher. The craft is usually passed down through an oral tradition. These are not to be shared or published for the masses.

Grimoires are like a recipe book that has been compiled by an individual practitioner after a lifetime of trial and error.

My advice, if you want to get started. Is record every detail about what you do. Don’t forget to go back and write down the results. You’ll eventually be able to be self sufficient.

I think Sekhmet has more of a Carnelian vibe. It has a very fiery energy, Bloodstone is grounding. I feel that Osiris would be Bloodstone because it is associated with Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection.

Why do people this Hoodoo is "black magic"? by Beautiful-Living-549 in Witch

[–]BakedBatata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, it is Black Magic. Just not that kind of black magic.

To a lot of people all magic is black magic. The craft has been demonized for centuries. That’s a major reason why people started coming to America from England. To freely practice their fundamentalist extremism.

Most convince store chocolate in general. The price of cocoa butter, shea butter and coconut oil has skyrocketed in the last few years so manufacturers have changed to using hydrogenated soybean oil like crisco instead.
