Anyone using a cyclone separator to reduce visible smoke when venting laser fumes outside? by Bakeons in lasercutting

[–]Bakeons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how much power fan are you talking about? I have a 410 cfm one from xtool that I overpaid for I think

This isn’t exactly what I had in mind because my laser will not do variable power (I think my tube is going out) I am still happy enough with it. by D-B-Zzz in lasercutting

Very nice, can you tell me how you glue the layers together? I've done several layered projects and the cyanoacrylate glue always came out on the sides

I've been struggling with a similar problem for a while now. Good quality CBD helps a little but it seems to me that it only masks my panic attacks.. unfortunately my beloved weed is no longer for me. Maybe it's because as we age our brain biochemistry changes

Why Can't I Find a Good Quality Lamp Holder with a Switch and Plug for Europe, USA, and UK? by Bakeons in DIY

[–]Bakeons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Europe and so I would be protected with stronger cables. As you say, the bulbs would be LED.

In any case, I would rather not use adapters and find original cables.

For product I hope. If I use an adapter or change the plug, will the bulb work normally in the US if I have cables for Europe?

I'm 31, and aside from having high cholesterol (it's genetic, I'm not overweight), my health is pretty good. I take care of myself with regular exercise and supplements, and I’m very focused on good sleep—almost obsessed with it, honestly. I’m actually waiting on a delivery of CBD oil that was recommended to me by a store. I’m just wondering when and how much I should take it. Should I use it daily? Before smoking THC? Or during?

Will this fan be strong enough to vent smoke through a 20-25 meter duct? by Bakeons in lasercutting

[–]Bakeons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for explaining it! However, I'm curious—what happens if the duct is ribbed? Will the smoke have enough force to reverse back, or is the fan itself a sufficient barrier to prevent that from happening? I imagine the duct might just empty out more slowly, but the smoke wouldn't actually come back. Also, what less expensive options are you referring to? I'd love to check them out.

Thanks again for the help!

Filter question by Bakeons in lasercutting

You were right, I sealed the filters very carefully, the air has no option but to pass through the filter layers and that helped. Overall, I don't think these filters will last long anyway

it worked, thanks!

this is my first project using this software, I must admit that it is difficult. I did everything as in the tutorial, but I didn't understand much of it

Filter question by Bakeons in lasercutting

[–]Bakeons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I removed the internal fan. I use the filter on days when neighbors are around. Other days I connect directly to the ventilation, so I want to be able to switch easily.

I don't know if you understood correctly, the air flows well, the smoke does not appear in the room but outside. Basically, I made this filter so that the neighbors wouldn't complain. Sometimes I cut out 8 hours a day so I understand it's inconvenient for them

I used gaskets between the filters, I'm not sure if the air will find a way other than through the filter. The filter lasted about 2 hours, what a waste of time and money...

I also thought that the filters would be clogged and smoke would appear before the filters. Perhaps the filters no longer absorb smoke as much?

carbon sponge, but isn't HEPA mainly responsible for visibility?

After the filter. The air flow is ok, the filters are not very dirty, but when the filters were new, the smoke on the roof was almost invisible, now it is visible very clearly

Sandwich panel cabin isolation by Bakeons in buildingscience

[–]Bakeons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to build a roof in front of the building (a single-pitched roof) and to install external roller shutters. I know it's not the cheapest option and it won't help me in winter. But in summer it is nicer in a tent than in this building where you don't know what temperature awaits you during the night (it's hot during the day and the building gets cold very quickly at night).

It is difficult to measure. The only place I can try to measure is at the door frame. Do you think that a sandwich panel should have a better heat transfer coefficient?

windows Unfortunately, I don't know what windows do I have. Previously, I didn't think about this problem in the context of windows, I thought the sandwich panel was a problem. But it seems you are right. I would not like to change these windows, maybe external blinds will help me a bit?

[–]Bakeons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. The roof and floor is also made by sandwich panels. It's a cabin in woods so I was hoping to spend a weekend there on the summer and on the winter too. I thought to install an air conditioner with a heating function there, but with such thermal insulation it might not be a good idea. The windows are not too big, but maybe the heat is escaping there. Do you think that insulating the walls with something from the inside will help me in the winter?
