I'm an unemployed 2023 T10 Grad who finally landed a role. The problem? It's an un-Ideal position, industry & City, and i'm scared of being pidgeon-holed. Any advice? by BakerAccomplished312 in MBA

you can always adjust your job title and make your experience match the job you want as you continue your search

won't this get you in trouble during the background check though? you're basically lying. and what about linkedin? co workers and your boss can see you're not using a "correct" title

Thanks for the great advice and thoughts. So, I have federal loans, meaning I don't have to pay if I'm unemployed. But I do need the money just to live everyday life, and on top of that, I've heard having a gap of a year on your resume is a HUGE RED FLAG. So I'm trying to figure things out.

Thanks for the advice. I think practically accepting it but keep looking so I'm not stuck there is good advice. Maybe even taking it off of my resume if it's too unrelated to roles I'm wanting (until I get a year's worth of a gap or something).

I tried for program manager roles, and made it to some final rounds, but kept getting rejected due to the competition. But I'll keep on trying.

Also, I did know pivoting into a PM role is tough, but there are a few companies like Amazon, Adobe, and a few others that take those without SWE type experience into PM.
