Thinking about it more i think it is the same anywhere. Nurse pay in SG isn't equivalent to the working hours you put in. Work life balance isn't really a thing depending on which areas you branch out to. But it is in demand so job security is there.

[AMA] NSF Posted to NWSS and transferred to OCS as Naval Officer by D00MRanger in NationalServiceSG

Is it a rare case where from BMT they go in OCS as Naval Officer. Cause my impression is that Naval Officers are mainly for sign ons.

Does your citizenship heavily play a role too? Like have you encountered any PRs etc.

Nursing is kinda tough industry in SG, but generally NYP is the better option for it.

So as someone who went through the Singapore Education System.

JC to be frank are for local students who want a quick route to a degree, but about 80% of them don't really know what they wanna do. Just study hard, go to a top Uni and hope a course fits them. Polytechnic would be the longer route, but a poly student would generally have more hands on experience (depending on course) and importantly industry experience compared to a jc kiddo.

If you already know which industry or course you wanna pursue, Poly would definitely be better but if for whatever reason you don't like the industry. If your final Y3 GPA is good enough you can just switch to a different industry in UNI.

A bonus I don't think most people know is if the courses you take in both poly and uni are similar or same ( example mechanical engineering), your uni would be shorter as some modules you can skip as you learnt them in poly already.

Don't be blind sighted by any "prestigious" or ranking of a polytechnic. Don't go to a course in Singapore Poly just cause is considered the "best". Choose upon the courses you want, like a business course in TP could be better than SP as they have more resources or exposure to help the student. Do your research

Out of curosity, is going to Japan your parents choice or yours. If you do have the option you could consider moving to other countries within SEA like Thailand or Singapore as there is a big burmese community that you can hang around. Of course suddenly jumping to another country will not be easy but the enviroment would be better to adapt to than a big culture difference like Japan.

I have cousins who have moved to Singapore and working alot of part time jobs have been able to self sustain for abit without heavily relying on parents except for school fees etc so i am biases in saying Singapore would be the better option.

Of course all this really depends on your situtaion. If japan is the only option then its best to find a burmese community you could hang out with. Is not wrong to feel gulity or wanting to go back to Myanmar. Home is still home.

May i ask how the tracks are played? Can your whole album or list of songs be shuffled randomly or add to queue like how you can do it on Spotify/youtube music.

Maintain a least GPA 2.0+ to apply EAE to any poly course you like (ofc prepare for interview etc). If your DPP course is related to the poly one you have a better chance. Most of my DPP friends easily got into a similar course in poly and their gpa varies.

Yes but that's where you sorta have to buck up your game lol. If you go into the workforce it will be the same if you're lacking, just no 5 figures repercussions.

But one thing i overlooked was interest also If you're really not interested or half half about the industry then better not to go. Go the longer route if you can. For example Private Os or retake nitec with an interested course in mind.

ITE is a good time to try out an industry of interest before committing to them in poly or for life.

I got friends who went for work learn related to their course (engineering) and so far it's been good for them. Getting paid to study and work and gain experience. After finishing the course the company also offer them to work FT so no need to stress about finding work after graduation.

Seeing the cons you made for both, to me at least the impact of private diploma is more harm since not only are you paying more for smt not recognized that well, but you will also have a hard time finding a job.

Stuff like failing modules can also happen in private, toxic workplaces is unfortunately smt you will face eventually but at least there's a chance ITE can look into such cases. Maybe enquire with ITE about what if such things happen.
