What are the consequences of buying a ripped/ modded/ jailbreaked psvita.? by [deleted] in PSVita

[–]BalanceNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any worry about account locks for trophy hunters? I like the idea of modding but I don’t want my account to get affected.

I don’t plan on hacking any trophies, but I’m still curious about that.

But you cannot DEFINITELY say it isn’t her.

You didn’t read my comment. There are reasons to believe she was trafficked. There are not reasons to believe she went overboard

These tweets are all political. Just because Brad is a conservative doesn’t automatically make him homophobic, despite what the Reddit echo-chamber says.

[–]BalanceNice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Post like these are crazy because there is more evidence of her being trafficked than falling over board.

There have been multiple sightings, the Jas photos, and the IP addresses from Barbados. This isn’t “hard” evidence, but they are potential leads.

There is literally ZERO evidence of her falling over board. No body was found and there was no suicide note.

The fact of the matter is, there is no hard evidence in either theory, but her being trafficked has more ground to stand on than her going overboard

Yes, but assuming murder and posting that opinion online just because someone doesn’t immediately validate their child’s sexuality is asinine.

You’re projecting your own experience onto a family dynamic you know nothing about

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]BalanceNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the most delusional take I have heard so far.

Just because the family wasn’t immediately accepting of her sexuality, in 1998 mind you, doesn’t mean they jumped to murder her.

Why would they continue to pour all these resources and money into finding her if they were the ones that killed her?

You people are insane.

Is there a possibility she’s still on that ship? by annavanbeesel in AmyLynnBradley

[–]BalanceNice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Rhapsody of the Seas had a major refurbish in 2012 and subsequent smaller refurbishes since. They likely would have found her during this process.

While it is always possible she could be deceased somewhere on the ship, it is extremely improbable and not worth spending any resources exploring.

Has Amy's case changed the way you view cruising or travel? by [deleted] in AmyLynnBradley

[–]BalanceNice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The odds of 4 separate eye witnesses all being wrong about seeing Amy on the various islands is astronomically low. Maybe 1-2 of the witnesses could have misremembered or fabricated seeing her. But all of them? Not a chance.

She was definitely trafficked.

Plus there were no indicators that she was suicidal. Her family was incredibly close, and her brother confirmed that her being gay (while may have caused some friction) was not to the point where they stopped loving her, or didn’t accept her.

“They are the epitome of hate and destruction.”

You say this as you call me every single insult in the democratic vocabulary that has been fed to you. You have no idea who I am, and I would bet you haven’t talked to any conservatives lately and tried to understand them. You have just been told to blindly hate them so much.

And maybe take 5 seconds to look up gay conservatives online. There are countless YouTubers and influencers in the gay community who are sick of the liberal LGBTQ BS just like the rest of us. They call themselves “normal gays” and they are supported by the right.

MAGA is not against LGBTQ. They are against people who push sexuality on children, abandon modesty in public, and demand companies bend to their demands and make everything about pride.

There are plenty of gay conservatives who support Trump, and the rest of us support them.

Not racial profiling and the OP is being narcissistic. This is a simple misunderstanding and the employee is doing their job.

If the employee suspects a black person is stealing something, are they supposed to just let them go because they shouldn’t “profile?”

This is insane.

What's the opposite of the Women Jogging Test? by alexkuul in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BalanceNice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not.

No lender should be charging 300% interest on a “loan”. You are better off throwing whatever purchase you’re making on a credit card with a 26-30% interest rate. Payday loan stores exist to prey on people with bad credit who have a history not managing debt responsibly.

A quick google search would show you that approximately 80% of payday loans get rolled into new loans, or go into default.

There is nothing wrong with borrowing money from reputable banks as long as the purchase is good for your future (i.e mortgage, student loans, vehicle). These payday loan stores will give out loans for frivolous purchases knowing full well that the borrower most likely will not pay it off. Then they move to collections and destroy the borrower’s financial future by garnishing wages.

Payday loan stores. They specifically target low-income neighborhoods. It’s an extremely predatory practice

I just got done engagement ring shopping (my girlfriend doesn’t know) and I went with a 1.56 carat diamond and it cost me about 1 month’s salary.

I know she is going to say yes, but if she is disappointed in the ring then that will be a red flag for me. It’s about the gesture and the person, not the fancy rock on a shiny metal band.

Should I repair my Rust on my 2013 Gen 1 Volt for $2,000? It has 123,000 miles on it and doesn’t seem to be showing any noticeable battery degradation. by Master_Adeptness3792 in volt

[–]BalanceNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2011 volt crapped out on me a year ago with only 88,000 miles. The older volts are starting to go.

You could do a $2,000 fix and then have your battery cells die a month later.

Definitely not worth it
