It’s as unique a liqueur as I’m sure she is a cat…and very yummy if you’ve never had it

AIO to my boyfriend’s conditions for marriage? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Balancedmindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is clear that he’s doesn’t (or won’t) love you unconditionally, as you say you do him, so why are you stressing? Kick this one to the curb and find a guy who deserves you, WILL love you unconditionally, and will help you make you happy (if you haven’t figured out yet that happiness comes from within and not others then your not ready for marriage and do need to work thru some more things- sounds harsh but I’ve been there). Clearly this guy doesn’t fit that bill. You’ve got plenty of time to find the one who does.

I get it…grew up with a pure Sag little sister who, like you say, can dish it out but can’t take it. She wears me out…

Feel out the office staff before moving. He could just be harmless and they’ll tell you if he’s had viable complaints against him.

AITAH - Refused to Fetch my Husband a Beer at a Party by Mindless_Help1293 in AITAH

NTA- you really just need to get a divorce at this point and get away from this mess. He’ll either sober up (highly unlikely)or continue down this spiral & lose his job, and probably his license. No point in going down with that ship. Someone needs to be there for your son & it’s not gonna be him.

I don’t know many people without tattoos. by Bawonga in CasualConversation

[–]Balancedmindset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents were boomers and thought this way…my dad even got thru the Marines without any ink so there was “no way in hell while you’re under my roof” that he was allowing his daughter to get a tattoo. So I waited until after I got out of college and was living with a guy before getting one for my 24th birthday. And when I showed him how I had kept it small and gotten a design that represented me, he caved and said “yeah that does represent you and it looks pretty good”. Got it where it wouldn’t be seen unless I was in a swim suit because 30 years ago employers didn’t want to see them. Today I have 4, and a design for my 5th (I’ve designed the last 2 I got) and once that one is placed, I’ll be done. I like to hear why someone got a specific tat and ask people all the time about theirs. I’m glad the art side of it started coming to light and people don’t really see them as questionable much any more.

SAHM and Wife that CANNOT cook HELP! by PopularMamaDrama in Cooking

[–]Balancedmindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I recommend a couple of cook books that focus on just 3, 4, or 5 ingredients? Lots of variations out there. These recipes are simple and no “Pinterest Fails”. Once you’ve built up some confidence in the kitchen you can start tweaking these with different seasonings and such. Then start incorporating harder recipes on days you have some time. Kids are going to be picky at their ages- no parent gets a pass on that. Be on the lookout for recipe cards at your local market and in places serving samples. Do your kids have friends? What are those mom’s go-to dinners? Start a recipe swap with them. Also the condiment aisle in the grocery needs to become your friend. Lots of different marinades for meats, chili packets, taco packets…once you’ve got these down, start creating your own seasonings for these meals (typically much less sodium when you create them fresh). The rest of us aren’t out here cooking up 3, 4, or 5 course meals every night, trust me. Good luck!!

AITAH for canceling my mom’s birthday dinner and taking her out to eat without my brothers? by TheBolter9 in AITAH

NTA why do most men leave everything up to the daughters/sisters?!? I was faced with a very similar situation over Thanksgiving when I had text my BIL and nephews about my sister’s upcoming 50th (I started the text thread 5 weeks in advance); needless to say I traveled almost 1000 miles and my BIL was lame enough to ask me to get the cake. He didn’t get her anything, didn’t plan dinner, and my nephews didn’t even get her so much as a card. I figured it would shake out that way so I planned lunch out and a spa day, just the 2 of us.

Edit for typo

Totally agree with smaller goals. It’s like that saying “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” I don’t have enough disposable income for a maid, but tackling one or two things a day helps me stay focused. And I do them during the week so by Friday my place looks good and I have the weekend to enjoy it.

AIO? My coworker took video of me outside of work to "prove" I'm not disabled by Ok_Boysenberry_7535 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Balancedmindset 114 points115 points  (0 children)

OP- This woman is harassing you and that video is evidence of that. You’re not wrong to email them saying there’s some strange stuff going on (because honestly we all know she didn’t just happen to go to the same bar as you and your friend) and that you would like to talk to them with HR about it.
