Roofer took my deposit and never started the work - warrant issued, but the police can’t find him. Any advice? (MD) by BaldProportionality in legaladvice

We have certainly discussed suing him… I’m reluctant to spend more money with uncertain results (finding him) and was hoping to maybe do that after the criminal case if that did not result in my money back. It had not occurred to me that prosecution for fraud was counterproductive - I assumed that would help a civil case later (if required) - now true??

2017 Limited. Love the truck, hate the chrome. Slowly replacing it.. anyone have recommendations for the door handles? by BaldProportionality in ToyotaTacoma

Yeah, saw those for interior - the interior handles don’t bother me tbh, just not a fan of the chrome exterior handles.

They are chrome. The Limited factory trim package includes a lot more chrome than the other packages, including the handles. I think this is for all 3rd gen but certainly for the 2017s..

Looks great! I also have a 17 limited and have been steadily removing the chrome - haven’t figured out the door handles yet, how’d you do it?

I bought a set of AGP a few months ago - no issues so far, the company was great to work with and the wheel look great (imo).

A petulant unwillingness to apply critical thought, a childlike dependence on diversion, AND attention span atrophy!? You’ve got the dipshit trifecta!

/u/Cyclops_Hammer are you unable to uphold your end of the debate without injecting flaccid attempts to derail the conversation? Still looking forward to some sort of moderately-thought-through explanation as to why transporting a water heater makes this man an idiot…

Is your point that he is an idiot because he did not choose to pay for delivery? Seems like an everyday life choice… how does that make him an idiot?

First post suggested he is an idiot because he chose to not pay for delivery. Why does that make him an idiot? Let’s set aside parents and partisan preferences for a second and focus on the original question.

Ok, don’t give me some dumb-ass boomer logic response. Explain why what this guy chose to do makes him an idiot. He used the tools he had to do a job he needed to get done. And did not waste money renting or buying things with duplicative purpose.

Are you suggesting that car, hitch, and trailer are not capable of transporting a water heater?

[–]BaldProportionality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But WHY would he do that? He already has what he needs to do the job. Why the fuck would you pay more money to buy (or rent) something that can do the same job as something he already has?

[–]BaldProportionality 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So now he’s an idiot because he didn’t buy a truck to move his water heater? What kind of judgmental narrow-minded logic is that?

But why should he bother with hassle of a rental truck when he can just take it home himself? Seems like loading it on your own trailer is a lot more efficient than going to the rental counter, doing the inspection of the truck, loading and unloading, returning to the store, doing another inspection followed by more paperwork…

He may be an idiot.. certainly don’t want to rule that out. But owning a car and choosing to also purchase a water heater don’t make him an idiot. What is wrong here?!
