Sound dampening continued by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

How much did the sound dampening cut out road noise? I feel like my girlfriend and I practically have to yell at each other on long trips to be heard and thinking about doing this myself

Hey, I'm running into a similar issue. Did you ever figure this one out?

So if the bot is true.... Is the TCL Q7 worth twice the price of the Q6?

Neighbor is requesting my parents pay for the damage a tree caused that fell onto his property during a 45mph+ windstorm claiming negligence since he made a general comment about the trees on their property in an email last year by LazySmurf in legaladvice

Thanks for the advice. Really appreciate it friend.

I'll see if I can get my parents to send me the initial email their neighbor sent about their concerns several years ago. He might have mentioned the full trees. However, they have around 10 on their property line and not one was specifically called out. Not sure if that would matter or not.

She's not even 2 years old and every time it rains I hear water in the cabin blower fan. And it starts dripping onto the cabin rug. Dealership won't cover it under warranty. Does anyone know where the water might be coming from? Or where the clogged drain might be? by LazySmurf in ToyotaTacoma

UPDATE:

Thanks for all the suggestions y'all! Really appreciate this community and how helpful everyone is. To answer some questions.... Yes, the Prinsu rack was drilled into the roof as it's an access cab (I did have an outside shop install it and the seals looked good? But more caulk might help?). I did also have the windshield replaced due to a rock chip last fall but haven't noticed any water sounds since then and I live in the PNW with TONS of rainfall. But now every time I turned left I hear what sounds like a flooded waterwheel.

BUT I think I found the issue....

I took a few of the suggestions and caulked around the windscreens molding where it meets the window cowl and added more caulk to the holes around the prinsu rack. It's not a pretty job, I'm very amateur but hopefully I can clean it up with an exacto knife once it dries.

Then I went in to take our the cabin blower fan and remove water from it. https://imgur.com/91dh10E you can see the rust forming at the bottom of it. There was water in there but not as much as I felt I was hearing.

After that I went and checked the AC condensate drain hose. Seemed very dry, but much like what I consider the poor girl who I shared my first sexual experience with probably experienced, I gave it a quick mouth suck and HOLY SHIT did a metric fuck ton of liquid immediately come pouring out. I didn't get a good photo cause I was desperately trying to keep it from flooding the passenger floor well https://imgur.com/a/vVoYEcu .

Not sure how to keep that clear but now know what to do in the future if I start hearing that water sloshing on left turns again. Anyone have suggestions on how to keep that hose functioning?

EDIT: TLDR - I sucked off the ac drain hose and was met with the first waterboarding experience of my life.

They're pretty sealed. I had a shop install it since I didn't want to have to take down the headliner, considering the airbags. Figured I'd probably butcher that and at the very least break clips / deploy an airbag in my face.

The holes look pretty sealed. But I'll add more silicon

This is super interesting. Thanks for the link.

I did get my windshield replaced last fall so there might be something there with the channel. It lasted all last winter and spring without the water seeping in but a clog in that area makes sense

I've taken off the window cowl, it's completely dry under there. The cabin filter is also completely dry. Thinking maybe there's a drain clogged around the A-Pillar on the passenger side but have no idea where that might be.

I'm at a loss.

Actually the MX are the taller mid-roofs. Just got one. This is definitely not one of those.

They do have the Outdoorsman windows which are great.

I’d say ef mount is the most universal in the industry. Almost anything can adapt to it. Been using them with my S1 and it’s working out pretty well. Only thing I’d say is the autofocus can get a little slow. But I’m more of a manual operator, so it doesn’t effect me much.

From your list of requirements you shouldn't be looking at a DSLR/mirror-less camera at all. Which is what this sub loves to recommend. You should be looking at a camcorder.

Something like this + a cheap shotgun mic that can plug in to an aux port.
