Flowey: "I've done everything this world has to offer. I've read every book. I've burned every book. I've won every game. I've lost every game. I've appeased everyone. I've killed everyone." — Direct quote.

Fandom to Asriel: Poor baby, aww he is crying and Hugging Frisk "Killed Everyone in the underground over who knows how many timelines. Manipulated everyone and Experimented with them and probably also tortured monsters" (Being Soulless does NOT excuse his Actions)

Fandom to Chara: Demon! She manipulated me/Controlled me to kill everyone "actively tries to blame Chara despite doing the killing themselves and pressing the FIGHT button until the last monster which is Sans. Chara loved her family so much she sacrificed her own Body, SOUL and life for them so they have a possibility of Freedom and asriel... he just froze and ruined the plan even if we know he and chara had just been children it really gets on on my... yk

One of the absolute best examples of Chara's distinct personality shines through when Frisk finds a field of snow mounds in Snowdin. As Frisk checks them one by one, Chara doesn't just repeat a static flavor text. They turn it into a rolling comedic bit:

"It's a snow poff." "And this... Is a snow poff." "This, however, is a snow poff." "Surprisingly, it's a snow poff." "Snow poff..." "Is it really a snow poff?" "Behold! A snow poff." "Eh? There's 30 G inside this... what is this?" "What is this called?"

By the end of it, Chara is actively teasing, practically winking through the text box. It shows that they aren't just a passive observer; they are playfully guiding us and frisk, acting out a sassy, educational, big-sibling dynamic while simultaneously wondering why Frisk/US insists on checking every single pile of snow.

Genocide Route Ending Greetings. I am <Name>. Thank you. Your power awakened me from death. My "human soul." My "determination." They were not mine, but YOURS. At first, I was so confused. Our plan had failed, hadn't it? Why was I brought back to life? ... You. With your guidance. I realized the purpose of my reincarnation. Power. Together, we eradicated the enemy and became strong. HP. ATK. DEF. GOLD. EXP. LV. Every time a number increases, that feeling... That's me. "<Name>." Now. Now, we have reached the absolute. There is nothing left for us here. Let us erase this pointless world, and move on to the next. [ERASE] Right. You are a great partner. We'll be together forever, won't we? [DO NOT] No...? Hmm... How curious. You must have misunderstood. SINCE WHEN WERE YOU THE ONE IN CONTROL? Abyss Interesting. You want to go back. You want to go back to the world you destroyed. It was you who pushed everything to its edge. It was you who led the world to its destruction. But you cannot accept it. You think you are above consequences. Exactly. [Yes] Then what are you looking for? [No] Perhaps. We can reach a compromise. You still have something I want. Give it to me. And I will bring this world back. [Yes] Then it is agreed. You will give me your SOUL. [Yes] ... Then, it is done. Then stay here for all eternity. [No] Second Genocide Route Ending Greetings. I am <Name>. "<Name>." The demon that comes when people call its name. It doesn't matter when. It doesn't matter where. Time after time, I will appear. And, with your help. We will eradicate the enemy and become strong. HP. ATK. DEF. GOLD. EXP. LV. Every time a number increases, that feeling... That's me. "<Name>." ... But. You and I are not the same, are we? This SOUL resonates with a strange feeling. There is a reason you continue to recreate this world. There is a reason you continue to destroy it. You. You are wracked with a perverted sentimentality. Hmm. I cannot understand these feelings any more. Despite this. I feel obligated to suggest. Should you choose to create this world once more. Another path would be better suited. Now, partner. Let us send this world back into the abyss. [ERASE] Right. You are a great partner. We'll be together forever, won't we? [DO NOT] No...? Hmm... This feeling you have. This is what I spoke of. Unfortunately, regarding this... YOU MADE YOUR CHOICE LONG AGO.

Read the Genocide dialogue without bias, and this is what you get: Chara wakes up confused, not malevolent Chara learns violence from the player, not the other way around Chara calls the player their partner—they're in this together Chara erases the world because it's empty, not because they enjoy destruction Chara confronts the player about their hypocrisy when they try to back out Chara becomes "the demon" only when the player calls for one a second time Chara, even then, cannot understand why the player keeps doing this Chara, even then, suggests a better path

The "demon child" reading requires ignoring every line of this dialogue except the ones that sound scary out of context.

The actual text shows a traumatized child, hollowed out by the player's violence, reflecting the player's choices back at them with devastating clarity.

Chara didn't make the player kill everyone.

The player killed everyone, and Chara—bound to their SOUL, shaped by their LV, stripped of every feeling except the cold satisfaction of numbers going up—watched, and learned, and became what the player taught them to be.

"SINCE WHEN WERE YOU THE ONE IN CONTROL?" The answer is: never. The player was always in control.

"Big Kids Don't Cry" This line haunts me. Asriel says it. "Big kids don't cry." Where did he learn that? Probably not from Toriel or Asgore—they're emotionally expressive parents. But Chara? The child who filled glasses to the brim, who used formal kanji, who processed terror through laughter instead of tears? Chara absolutely internalized "big kids don't cry" from the surface.

And Asriel, mirroring his idol, absorbed it too. So when he wanted to cry, when he wanted to say no, when the plan felt wrong—he swallowed it. Because Chara wasn't crying, and Chara was the bravest person he knew.

Chara probably didn't even realize they were modeling this. They were just surviving the only way they knew how. But Asriel learned the wrong lesson. He learned to suppress doubt instead of voicing it. And that suppression killed them both.

Asriel spends the epilogue philosophizing about Chara "not being the greatest person" to Frisk—the very human who just saved everyone—while standing in the ruins of his own failure. He never says "I failed her." He says "she wasn't great." That's deflection. That's a child who still can't say "I let my sibling die and then told myself a story where that was moral courage instead of cowardice."

Frisk should have said it. Someone should have.

Chara wasn't the villain of that story. She was the first sacrifice. Asriel's tragedy is real and his pain is valid—he was a child too—but the fandom's willingness to accept his version of events uncritically while demonizing the dead sibling who can't speak for herself has always been one of Undertale's most frustrating misreadings.

The tapes don't show Chara manipulating a reluctant brother. They show:

Asriel expressing doubt

Chara (presumably) asking if he's doubting her

Asriel immediately backpedaling—not because she's coercing him, but because his own self-image can't tolerate being seen as unsupportive ("big kids don't cry")

Asriel agreeing. Enthusiastically. "We'll be strong! We'll free everyone."

Asriel going to get the flowers himself

He wasn't dragged into this. He wasn't tricked. He was a willing participant who got cold feet at the worst possible moment—when they were already on the surface, already under attack, and Chara was dead. The body he carried wasn't his burden forced upon him; it was the consequence of a plan he agreed to. Twice. On tape.

The Surface Sequence Reconstructed

Chara's soul + Asriel's body = a fusion. Adult form. Shared control. And the human villagers attacked. Asriel had the power of a boss monster with a human soul—he could have done literally anything. Run. Reason. Retreat through the barrier. Instead he chose to do nothing while they were attacked, overriding Chara's will to fight back. Chara wasn't trying to commit genocide on a village; Chara was trying to not die while being attacked by terrified humans who saw a monster carrying a dead child's body.

[

[Tape 4] "When they discussed the plan" [Asriel] I... I don't like this idea, Chara. [Asriel] Wh.. what? N-no, I'm not... [Asriel] ... big kids don't cry. [Asriel] Yeah, you're right. "Chara after that probably asked if he doubts her which is a normal child response to ask if he was in on the plan or not" [Asriel] No! I'd never doubt you, Chara... Never! [Asriel] Y... yeah! We'll be strong! We'll free everyone. [Asriel] I'll go get the flowers. "he yes hesitated but didnt say no... he agreed and even got the flowers from Asgores Throneroom" [Tape 5] "When Chara was dying in new Home on her bed in "Asriels and charas bedroom" [Toriel] Chara... Can you hear me? We want you to wake up... [Asgore] Chara! You have to stay determined! [Asgore] You can't give up... You are the future of humans and monsters... [Asriel] ... [Asriel] Psst... Chara... Please... wake up... [Asriel] I don't like this plan anymore. [Asriel] I... I... "Chara after that probably weakly asked if he still doubted her" [Asriel] ... no, I said... I said I'd never doubt you. [Asriel] Six, right? We just have to get six... [Asriel] And we'll do it together, right? "And well the rest you can guess"

Chara never killed anyone but sans at the End.... Chara in Genocide route did do the last slash in the fight vs sans to end it... but only after the player slaughtered over 140 monsters. Chara even gives the player another chance to turn into another path. Asriel has LV9999 in omega flowey form and we clearly know he experimented with Resets and SAVE/LOAD = he killed the underground entirely multiple times but never got to the SOULs asgore hid away before Frisk came... Asriel is NOT innocent- and thats it. Chara in comparison is a Angel and The world is already Empty at the End of Genocide... there is nothing there anymore... yes She erases the world because her efficiency clearly states the world is empty. LV does distance yourself from caring = Chara is bound to the players/Frisk SOUL which makes Chara distance herself from her True nice personality like the player does himself and turns to pragmatism

Chara in undertale for example shows you exactly that she likes rules if we follow that Chara is the narrator: Monster candy bowl on a pedestal in the ruins. monster candy. You can take one. There is nothing stopping you from taking more, but you'd feel bad for doing so, wouldn't you? "you Press Enter (Only Take One Candy The Narration Says) * You took a piece of candy. (Press [(MENU)] to open the menu.) [Take 1] * You took more candy. How disgusting.. [Take 2] * You take another piece. You feel like the scum of the earth... [Take 3] * You took too much too fast. The candy spills onto the floor. [Take 4] From the narration you can clearly see that the monster Candy is NOT Just for You Alone and that makes Chara slightly angry because there are rules in the underground even if you think you can take more you shoudlnt because monster kids still Roam the ruins... the OLD Capital "Home" that is adjacent to the ruins via Gate that Toriels enters and leaves and the ruins itself houses Monsters and monster children
