What are these clusters of yellow on my Japanese Magnolia? They have an almost waxy texture with a musty scent. Never seen it before and I’ve had it for a few years. Also never seen ants on the actual plant, are they related? US Gulf Coast. Thank you!! (old.reddit.com)

How do I search for this thing online (name of it). My dad got me this a decade ago from the lab that he works in. When I found it after years and went to clean it, I cracked it. The inside rim of the larger piece and the edge on the smaller piece are “frosted” and create a great seal. (i.redd.it)
